-   You will work in the AI research department of the cancer screening group, with a group of enthusiastic and talented AI research scientists and engineers. We contribute to real-world products, while also solving meaningful and applied research projects.

**🚩 Roles & Responsibilities**

-   Lead the research on AI models to advance the suite of Lunit’s products and the state-of-the-art of AI in medical image analysis.
-   Work closely with medical doctors, product managers, and research engineers to develop novel projects that align well with Lunit's needs in the present and future.
-   Push the organization’s technological advancement and translate technology into clinical practice.
-   Design and contribute hands-on across the full research lifecycle including data cleaning, pipeline management, and codebase structuring while providing technical guidance to junior members.

## Requirements

**🎯 Qualifications**

-   5+ years of research experience in machine learning (in academia or industry), preferably focusing on computer vision, medical image analysis, or natural language processing.
-   Master's or doctorate in computer science, biomedical engineering, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or a related field.
-   Solid understanding of and experience with contemporary machine learning and image analysis techniques, and related software packages (e.g., deep neural nets, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
-   Experience in need-finding and designing ML-based software systems and deploying them to production environments.
-   Ability to communicate in Korean.
-   Strong interest to work on medical problems and advance the standard of care using AI.
-   Quick learner with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
-   Highly responsible, have an eye for detail and motivated to build high quality and reliable solutions following the current best practices.
-   Team player with experience working in interdisciplinary research teams.
-   Proactive in sharing knowledge, initiating collaborations, and promoting a positive research environment.

**🏅 Preferred Experiences**

-   7+ years of research experience and 2+ years of industrial research experience (e.g., Ph.D. + 2 years of industry experience or Master's + 5 years of industry experience).
-   Solid experience with Git, Python, unit/integration testing, multithreading, and other software development practices such as agentic AI.
-   Experience working with medical image data.
-   Contributions to open-source repositories in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related areas.
-   Solid understanding of recent trends in AI Research (e.g., LLM, Stable Diffusion, Vision Transformers, Self-supervised Learning)
-   First-author publications in top-tier Computer Vision or Medical Imaging conferences or journals (CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, NeurIPS/ICLR/MedIA/TMI/MICCAI), or top-tier translational journals (e.g., Nature Medicine, JAMA, Lancet Digital Health).
-   Participation in Computer Vision/Medical Imaging challenges.
