## Description

[**function()**](https://thefunction.works)is the Shopify-exclusive branch of [**MALVI**](https://mal-vi.com), an award-winning design and strategy studio in Thessaloniki. We've been Shopify Partners since 2017 and a **Shopify Plus Partner** since January 2026. Over the course of these years we've built, supported and launched over 140+ stores in 14 countries, as well as build and run our own Shopify apps.

**What the job is**

As a Shopify developer at function() you will split your time between developing new projects and supporting our existing clients.

On the development side, you'll work on store builds, migrations, custom functionality and 3rd party integrations, as well as our own Shopify apps. We're looking for someone who can pick up a project and develop it without hand-holding, with the core team available for review and support.

On the support side, you'll handle requests from our existing clients through our task assignment system. With dozens of stores in active contracts under our care, support is a big part of what we do, and everyone on the development team takes part in it.

You'll work closely with team members from different disciplines, and communicate directly with clients in written (Greek and English). You don't need to know every client's setup from day one, since you'll pick that up along the way. You do need to know Shopify well enough to start building.

## Requirements

**You must fulfill the following requirements**

-   Ability to understand assignments (both team and client requests) and break them down into actionable tasks.
-   Excellent communication with clients, designers and the rest of the team.
-   Ability to translate a given design into code.
-   A restless mind who will always push the boundaries and seek optimal solutions.
-   Willingness to acquire extensive knowledge of Shopify and its programming ecosystem (Liquid, GraphQL, etc.).

**You'll fit if you have**

-   Min. 1–3 years of hands-on web development, with work you can show us
-   Real Shopify experience of any capacity
-   Solid HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript
-   Comfort debugging code you didn't write
-   Experience working with third-party APIs
-   Fluent Greek and good English, written and spoken
-   A background in **client-facing roles** (such as technical support, customer support, etc) is a plus

**Nice to have**

-   A client-facing background (support, account work)
-   GraphQL, Shopify app development, or serverless experience
-   Basic server and hosting admin
