# MEP Engineer - Cost Estimator (Facility Management)

## Description

We are seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our team as MEP Engineer - Cost Estimator.

The role is responsible for the technical assessment of buildings and facilities, estimation of maintenance requirements, and preparation of technical proposals for Facility Management services.

The successful candidate will conduct site surveys, assess installed MEP systems and equipment, define the required maintenance scope and resources, and translate technical requirements into accurate and competitive cost estimates.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   Conduct technical site surveys and inspections at client buildings and facilities.
-   Identify, record and assess installed MEP equipment and building systems, including HVAC, electrical installations, plumbing, fire protection, elevators and other technical systems.
-   Review available technical documentation, drawings, equipment lists, specifications and maintenance requirements.
-   Define the required preventive maintenance scope, frequencies and technical requirements for each facility.
-   Estimate required technical resources, specialties, man-hours, materials and subcontracted services.
-   Prepare detailed cost calculations and budgets for Facility Management and technical maintenance proposals.
-   Prepare equipment inventories and technical assessment reports following site surveys.
-   Request, review and evaluate technical and commercial quotations from suppliers and specialized subcontractors.
-   Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, RFQs and tenders.
-   Work closely with the Sales / Business Development and Operations teams to ensure that proposed solutions are technically feasible and commercially competitive.
-   Maintain and update costing data, equipment records and relevant technical information for future estimations.

## Requirements

-   Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (University/Technical College).
-   Good understanding of building MEP systems and technical maintenance requirements.
-   Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and equipment documentation.
-   Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to develop detailed cost estimates.
-   Very good knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet-based costing.
-   Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-   Driving license and willingness to travel for site surveys.
-   Previous experience in Facility Management, building maintenance, technical services, Presales, Tendering or Cost Estimation.
-   Experience in technical surveys and MEP equipment inventories.
-   Familiarity with CMMS/CAFM systems.
-   Good level of English.
-   Experience in supplier/subcontractor evaluation and negotiation.
-   Understanding of preventive maintenance planning and resource estimation.
