For Season **2027**, we are looking for a passionate **Commis Pastry Chef** to join the **Cayo in Elounda Crete.** 

**The Role** 

As **Commis Pastry Chef**, you will support the Pastry Chef in preparing desserts, pastries, breads and other baked goods for **Cayo,** following recipes and presentation standards. 

**A Day in the Job** 

Careful preparation and attention to detail help every pastry reach guests at its best. 

Here's what a typical day at **Cayo** could look like: 

-   You assist the Pastry Chef in preparing and baking desserts, pastries, breads and other baked goods. 

-   You follow recipes and presentation standards to maintain consistent quality and taste. 

-   You prepare ingredients and equipment for daily service, including scaling, measuring and mixing. 

-   You keep the kitchen and workstations clean and well maintained, following health and safety regulations. 

-   You assist with inventory control and stock rotation to maintain product freshness. 

-   You learn and apply the Pastry Chef’s techniques and contribute ideas for new desserts. 

-   You communicate with kitchen colleagues to support an efficient workflow and timely preparation. 

-   You maintain an organised work environment in line with food safety and sanitation standards.

**Essential qualifications:** 

-   A basic understanding of pastry techniques and baking processes. 

-   The ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced environment. 

-   Strong attention to detail and a passion for pastry arts. 

-   Creativity and eagerness to learn new skills. 

-   Excellent teamwork and communication skills. 

-   A positive attitude and willingness to take initiative. 

**Additional qualifications – a plus:** 

-   A diploma or certificate in pastry arts or culinary studies.
