Key responsibilities include:

-   Perform dental prophylaxis and periodontal treatments, including scaling and root planing
-   Administer local anesthesia and apply dental sealants as authorized
-   Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and recommend appropriate oral care products
-   Take and develop dental x-rays
-   Assist with dental procedures and patient management as needed
-   Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
-   Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in accordance with industry standards
-   Stay current with advancements and trends in dental hygiene

## Requirements

### Required Qualifications:

-   Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene
-   Valid New York State dental hygiene license
-   Authorization to administer local anesthesia and hands-on experience administering it
-   Clinical experience performing dental prophylaxis and periodontal treatments, including scaling and root planing
-   Experience taking and developing dental radiographs (dental x-rays) in a clinical setting
-   Proficiency in maintaining accurate patient records and clinical documentation
-   Basic computer skills for charting and clinical documentation
-   Working knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols in dental settings
-   English proficiency (spoken and written) for patient education
-   Currently authorized to work in the United States
-   Availability to work Saturday shifts as needed

### Preferred Qualifications:

-   Approximately 5 years of professional experience as a dental hygienist
-   Prior experience in a general dentistry practice
-   Spanish language proficiency
-   Strong patient communication skills for oral hygiene education
