The Opportunity

As a Visiting Medical Officer in Intensive Care Medicine, you will play an important role in providing specialist care to critically ill patients and supporting the delivery of safe, effective intensive care services.

**Key responsibilities include:**

-   Providing specialist assessment and management of critically ill patients.
-   Delivering intensive care services appropriate to the hospital's clinical capabilities and service requirements.
-   Working collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care.
-   Providing clinical leadership and supporting effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
-   Contributing to clinical education, continuing professional development, research and quality improvement initiatives.
-   Participating in the on-call roster, including the ability to attend the hospital within an agreed timeframe.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

-   Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FCICM), or equivalent recognised specialist qualifications.
-   Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Intensive Care Physician, including consideration through an appropriate international specialist pathway where applicable.
-   Recent clinical experience in Intensive Care Medicine appropriate to the service's level of care.
-   Demonstrated clinical leadership and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
-   Strong communication, interpersonal and clinical decision-making skills.
-   A commitment to patient safety, teaching, professional development and continuous improvement.
-   Availability to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable timeframe.
