# Podiatrist

> Mediix · Darwin, Australia · Full-time · Posted 2026-08-11

**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** Podiatry

## Description

**Podiatrist — Darwin, NT** _Sunshine, short commutes, and a caseload you won't find anywhere else_

Trade the traffic and the mortgage stress for a role where you finish work at 5pm, drive ten minutes home, and spend your weekends on the water. Darwin isn't a compromise - for the right clinician, it's an upgrade.

**About the opportunity**

We're partnering with a well-regarded Darwin practice looking for a Podiatrist to join their team. The role suits clinicians who want breadth in their caseload, autonomy in their day, and a genuine lifestyle change — without giving up professional standards or support.

You'll be working across a patient mix you simply don't see in metro clinics: general biomechanics and routine care alongside high-risk diabetic foot management, wound care, and Indigenous health presentations. It's the kind of caseload that fast-tracks a career.

**Why Darwin, why this role**

- **Clinical breadth** — a caseload that develops you two to three years faster than an equivalent metro role
- **Real lifestyle** — 10–15 minute commutes, boat ramps 20 minutes from the clinic, and 30°C in July
- **Financial upside** — the NT government's remote-area tax offsets and lower cost of living stretch a salary meaningfully further
- **Supportive team** — you're not the only clinician; there's a multidisciplinary team around you and structured mentoring if you need it
- **Modern clinic** — current equipment, current software, none of the "make do" you might expect of a remote role

**What the day looks like**

- Comprehensive assessments, diagnoses and evidence-based treatment planning across a broad caseload
- Routine podiatry care — nail and callus management, general biomechanics, footwear advice
- High-complexity work — diabetic and high-risk foot assessments, wound care, offloading
- Orthotic prescription, fitting, and rehabilitation program design
- Patient education with a strong preventive-health focus
- Accurate clinical documentation aligned with AHPRA standards
- Participation in case reviews and team development

**Who we're looking for**

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Podiatry
- Current General Registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- New graduates are genuinely welcome — structured mentoring and clinical supervision provided
- Cultural awareness and a respectful, patient-centred approach — you'll work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients as part of the everyday caseload
- Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
- The temperament for a bit of adventure — Darwin rewards clinicians who lean into it

**What's on offer**

- Competitive base salary + superannuation, structured to reflect the location and your experience
- Relocation support available for the right candidate
- Generous CPD allowance and dedicated study leave
- Access to Zone A remote-area tax offsets (talk to your accountant — they're meaningful)
- Modern clinic, high-quality equipment, and clinical software you'll actually enjoy using
- Flexible rostering and a genuine 4- or 5-day work week
- A clear career pathway with real clinical autonomy from day one
