### **Staff Specialist – General Physician / Geriatrician (Darwin Region, NT)**

**Permanent / 12-month Contract | Full-time or Part-time | Up to $304K + Benefits**  
**Work in a busy, multicultural setting with a leading public healthcare provider in Northern Australia**

We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent public hospital network in **Northern Territory**, offering a unique opportunity to work across **General Medicine and Geriatrics** in a collaborative and culturally rich environment.

**About the Role**

This hybrid position offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to both acute general medicine and geriatric care. You'll be working across **two well-respected facilities**, including a major tertiary hospital and a regional center that champions innovation in aged care.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex inpatient cases, with a strong focus on discharge planning and continuity of care. This role is ideally suited to a dual-qualified **FRACP** specialist with a passion for culturally responsive care and leadership in challenging clinical settings.

### **Key Responsibilities**

-   Consultant-level care for inpatients in a General Medical Unit
-   Geriatric service across:

-   Acute Care of the Elderly ward
-   Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM) ward
-   Interim Care Unit

-   Active involvement in junior doctor supervision and team leadership
-   Champion safe, timely discharge and community engagement strategies
-   Work collaboratively within a multicultural team environment

### **Essential Requirements**

-   Specialist registration with AHPRA
-   Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in:

-   General and Acute Care Medicine AND
-   Geriatric Medicine

-   Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary teams
-   Strong communication and cultural competency skills
