## Description

We are looking for an experienced **People & Culture Manager** to join the team **3 days per week** to lead and deliver our people strategies – including culture and engagement, recruitment and onboarding, offboarding, performance management, wellbeing, terms and benefits and compliance with all local laws applicable.

Working within the Operations team you will act as a trusted advisor to the Foundation management team, manage core people processes, and ensure the Micro:bit Educational Foundation continually strives to be an excellent place of work.

This role requires a both strategic and hands-on team member, ensuring that our people practices support our business goals and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture, as well as progress the Foundations goals in terms of equity, diversity and inclusion.

## Requirements

**Strategy and HR Management**

·       Develop, maintain, and implement People and Culture strategy. Designing and improving systems, processes, policies, and infrastructure that support the Foundation’s strategic objectives, while promoting fairness, consistency, and compliance.

·       Partner with teams to support organisational design, talent planning, and workforce development aligned to current and future needs.

·       Support the development and implementation of employment contracts and benefits frameworks that enable the Foundation to remain competitive and deliver excellence in employee experience.

  
  

**Recruitment & Onboarding**

·       Develop and implement best practices across the whole employee lifecycle including all employer obligations (legal and ethical) and a consistently positive employment experience.

·       Oversee end-to-end recruitment, from developing and publishing job postings and candidate screening to offers and onboarding.

·       Ensure a smooth and inclusive hiring process, ensuring key objectives to improve diversity, equity and inclusion are established and delivered.

·       Collaborate with the management team, hiring managers and project teams to forecast staffing needs and succession plans.

  
  

**Culture & Engagement**

·       Promote a positive company culture through recognition programs, engagement surveys, and team initiatives.

·       Ensure People and Culture initiatives are engaging, collaborative in design and of a high standard to attract, retain and build the capabilities of staff.

·       Lead the People and Culture and organisational development agenda during a period of expansion

·       Provide coaching and guidance to managers and team members and explore options to broaden our capacity to provide learning and development opportunities to our team

·       Be a focal point for people issues, coaching and supporting across the Foundation

  
  

**Performance, Learning & Development**

·       Lead performance management cycles — goal setting, feedback, and appraisal processes.

·       Identify training needs and implement learning programs to support team members.

·       Develop leadership development and career progression frameworks and opportunities relevant to a small Foundation.

  
  

**Documentation & compliance**

·       Maintain accurate employee records and HR metrics for reporting and decision-making, administrating the Foundation’s internal platform for HR information.

·       Ensure compliance with employment laws, data protection, and working with the Operations Director; safeguarding and health & safety standards.

·       Manage compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination in partnership with finance.

**Key Skills and qualifications**

·       CIPD Level 5 or above or equivalent experience

·       5-7+ years in HR or People and Culture roles, with at least 3 years in management or senior advisory capacity.

### Knowledge & Skills:

**We are seeking a People and Culture Manager who will align people and culture strategy with organisational goals.**  

·       Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices, with the ability to advise on potential trends and changes that may affect Foundation policies or procedures.

·       Experience of working within a small Foundation or organisation in UK and international settings.

·       Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles with the ability to drive good practices

·       Competence in delivering people and culture guidance across all levels of an organisation.

·       Proven ability to lead full employee lifecycle from recruitment through onboarding, performance development and offboarding.

·       Expertise in workforce planning, organisational development and change management.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Experience with HR information systems and data analytics.

·       Strong leadership, decision-making, and organisational abilities, ability to work with independently.

·       Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
