## Description

To create a series of short, informational videos for the International Student and Scholar Services office that can be posted to social media, canvas courses, and our website to help share important information out to the international population at Middlebury. This position offers the opportunity for a creative student to showcase vignette-style videography, storytelling, and editing skills.

**This is a student position that pays $14.95/hr**

**Core Responsibilities:**

**Project Planning & Coordination**

-   Meet with ISSS staff to clarify goals, vision, and intended audiences.
-   Develop outlines and storyboarding for the short videos

**Filming & Content Collection**

-   Create short informational videos through multiple modalities of graphics, animation, or potentially live footage recording of ISSS staff sharing important information
-   Ensure high-quality audio and video recording, or animated text/graphics.

**Editing & Post-Production**

-   Edit videos down to 3 minutes or less and make sure the information content is cohesive and understandable
-   Incorporate music, graphics, and titles consistent with Middlebury branding.

**Finalization & Delivery**

-   Share drafts with ISSS staff for review and feedback.
-   Make revisions and produce the final videos in appropriate formats (social media, web, or embedded into Canvas).
-   Provide ISSS with an organized archive of any raw footage and final files.

## Requirements

-   Strong skills in video production, including filming, editing, and storytelling.
-   Experience with editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar).
-   Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
-   Creative approach to visual storytelling and attention to detail.  
    

### Student Employment Eligibility:

Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.

Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.

Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component**.**

Student are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
