**Workplace:** hybrid

**Department:** Accounting

## Description

**Join the Millennium Team as a Senior Financial Operations Analyst!**

We are hiring a Senior Financial Operations Analyst to be Finance's strategic voice on our clients and the industries they operate in. You will look across our client portfolio and the wider market to spot risks and opportunities early, and turn that insight into clear recommendations for leadership.  The role combines big-picture analysis of large clients' financial health and industry trends with evaluating the economics of client terms, and it feeds those insights into our cash flow outlook. It sits in Finance and partners closely with Sales, Account Management, Legal, and Operations. It is separate from Credit: the focus is strategic insight and decision support, not credit approvals or collections.

Why this role matters - Your insights will help leadership anticipate client and market shifts before they affect revenue, margins, or cash, and will shape strategic and account planning decisions.

### **What You’ll Do**

### **Client portfolio and financial health analysis (about 30%)**

- Build a portfolio-level view of our largest clients' financial health using public filings, earnings calls, ratings agency updates, news, and our own relationship data.
- Maintain a client health scorecard that tracks liquidity, leverage, profitability, growth, and ownership or leadership changes, with early-warning indicators.
- Assess concentration risk and identify which clients and segments drive our revenue, margin, and growth.
- Deliver regular client portfolio reviews to the Controller and senior leadership, with a clear point of view on risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Share insights with the Credit team, while credit limits and approvals stay with Credit.
- Partner with Sales and Operations on high-value or strategically important accounts, bringing a financial and market perspective to account planning.

### Industry and market intelligence (about 30%)

- Monitor trends, competitor activity, regulation, and macroeconomic conditions across our clients' industries.
- Translate market developments into implications for our clients, our revenue outlook, and our strategy.
- Produce concise monthly or quarterly industry briefings for leadership.
- Bring benchmarks and market data into strategic planning, budgeting, and account planning.
- Track commodity and raw material price movements, supply chain disruptions, and other leading indicators that could affect our clients' performance or our own exposure.

### Client terms and deal economics (about 10%)

- Evaluate the financial impact of key client terms, such as pricing, payment terms, rebates, and volume commitments, on margin and working capital.
- Identify patterns and trends in terms across the client portfolio and recommend standards and guardrails.
- Advise commercial teams on the economics of significant or non-standard deals.

### Cash flow outlook (about 30%)

- Contribute client and industry insight to the rolling cash flow forecast, especially expected timing of large client inflows.
- Model scenarios, such as a major client slowing payments or an industry downturn, and their effect on liquidity.
- Partner with Accounting on forecast assumptions and variance explanations.

### Communication and special projects

- Turn complex analysis into executive-ready presentations and dashboards.
- Lead ad hoc strategic analyses requested by the Controller and leadership.

### **What You Bring**

### Required

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, FP&A, equity or industry research, consulting, or similar.
- Strong ability to analyze financial statements and assess a company's financial condition and strategic position.
- Experience researching industries and markets and drawing business conclusions from them.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to deliver a clear, concise point of view to senior leaders.
- Curiosity, sound business judgment, and comfort working independently on open-ended questions.

### Preferred

- Experience with research tools such as S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, PitchBook, or industry databases.
- Familiarity with client credit risk assessments, contract or pricing analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
- Experience with ERP systems (such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and BI tools (such as Power BI or Tableau or Domo).
- Background in a B2B environment with large enterprise clients.
- Distribution or construction industry experience, including exposure to commodity-driven markets.
