# Field Engineer

## Description

The Field Engineer assists the Superintendent and the project team in managing subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with the specified quality and safety standards.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

1\. Project Coordination:

-   Assist in coordinating and overseeing daily activities on the construction site by interacting with subcontractor foremen and employees daily.
-   Assist with the scheduling of work, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met.
-   Assist with maintaining and updating the delivery calendar in conjunction with the cycle schedule and release dates.
-   Help coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure smooth project flow.
-   Assist in resolving conflicts and issues that may arise during the construction process.

2\. Quality Control:

-   Conduct pre-sheetrock inspection to identify and address any incomplete work, defects, or deviations from project requirements.
-   Assist in completing project-specific mockups to ensure that all work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
-   Check all deliveries (concrete/grout trucks, rebar/steel, waterproofing material, sheetrock, door frames, tile, kitchen cabinets, flooring, etc.) against approved submittals.
-   Help complete and track the punch list process until acceptance by the design team and handover to the owner.

3\. Safety Compliance:

-   Adhere to and help enforce safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
-   Report and help to investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and assist in implementing corrective actions as needed.
-   Assist the Safety team in maintaining their on-site binders (approved & engineered drawings/details, DOT & DOB permits, etc.)
-   Assist the Safety team with daily checks of the site (SOE, egress, fence, sidewalk shed, supported scaffolding, perimeter protection, etc.)

4\. Documentation and Reporting:

-   Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and site photos.
-   Help track project progress and issues to senior management, providing regular updates on project status.
-   Assist in managing project files: up-to-date drawings, specifications, sketches, NCR’s, RFI’s, permits, and other documentation necessary for compliance and project tracking.

5\. Learning and Development:

-   Actively seek opportunities for professional growth and development within the construction industry by taking various DOB-approved courses and certifications.
-   Stay updated with the latest construction methods, code changes, technologies, and best practices.

## Requirements

-   Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
-   1-3 years’ prior experience with a General Contractor, Engineering firm or similar role within the industry preferred.

Salary range: $70,000 - 95,000 annually
