## Description

**Band Saw Operator**

**£13.00 per hour to start | Full-time | Monday–Friday | No weekends**

We are currently recruiting for a **Band Saw Operator** to join our client’s manufacturing team, working on the production team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is mechanically minded, confident working with machinery and has a good eye for accuracy and detail.

**The Role**

As a Band Saw Operator, you will operate cutting machinery to accurately cut foam components to the required size and specification.

Your duties will include:

-   Setting up and operating a band saw and cutting equipment
-   Cutting foam components accurately to specified measurements
-   Reading job sheets, work instructions and basic technical drawings
-   Working to required dimensions and tolerances
-   Measuring and checking completed parts for quality and accuracy
-   Identifying and reporting any damaged or incorrect materials
-   Reporting machinery faults or operational issues to management
-   Ensuring paperwork and job information stay with the correct parts for traceability
-   Carrying out basic cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery
-   Completing material counts when required
-   Supporting production targets and continuous improvement
-   Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
-   Following company quality, health & safety and **AS9100** procedures

**What We're Looking For**

We're looking for someone who is:

-   Mechanically minded and comfortable operating machinery
-   Accurate with excellent attention to detail
-   Able to work from measurements, instructions and drawings
-   Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
-   Reliable, organised and able to prioritise workload
-   Able to identify quality issues and follow procedures
-   A good team player with a strong work ethic

Previous **machine operating, manufacturing, production, cutting or woodworking experience** would be an advantage. Experience using a band saw is beneficial, but relevant transferable skills will also be considered.

**Pay & Progression**

**Starting rate: £13.00 per hour**

The starting rate will depend on your experience and performance during the skills assessment. There is **scope for the rate to increase** for candidates who demonstrate strong performance and successfully progress through the **three-month probationary period**.

**Working Hours**

**Monday – Thursday:** 7:00am – 4:00pm  
**Friday:** 7:00am – 1:00pm

**No weekend working.**

**Recruitment Process**
