**POSITION GOAL:** 

This position provides support to the procurement team by assisting with day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of orders and supplier communications. The role is designed to give the student practical experience in procurement operations while contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

-   Assist buyers with purchase order (PO) entry, updates, and maintenance in the ERP system.
-   Investigate and help resolve supplier invoice discrepancies in coordination with the supplier and finance team.
-   Communicate with suppliers to request quotes, lead times, and product availability.
-   Collect item data for tariff assessments and customs clearance, including CUSMA certification, origin, metal content, and melt/smelt country.
-   Follow up on outstanding orders and expedite deliveries as needed.
-   Support Category Team initiatives by gathering and organizing supplier information.
-   Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
-   Track and update order statuses to ensure timely delivery.
-   Assist in compiling procurement data and reports for analysis.
-   Collaborate with internal departments to support procurement activities.
-   Perform other general procurement and administrative duties as assigned

## Requirements

-   Enrolled in University of Manitoba in Business / Supply Chain Management.
-   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
-   Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-   Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
-   Keen ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
-   Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Oracle, is an asset.
