# Property Accountant (Remote)

## Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Property Accountant to manage the financial reporting and accounting activities for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, timely month-end close, and compliance with accounting standards while partnering closely with Property Managers and corporate leadership.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-   2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
-   Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
-   Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
-   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
-   Experience with property management/accounting software tools.

### Responsibilities

-   Prepare monthly financial statements and complete month-end close.
-   Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts.
-   Record journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
-   Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
-   Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
-   Collaborate with Property Managers to ensure financial accuracy.
-   Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
-   Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
