## Description

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas, expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

As the **Head of Marketing**, you will play a critical role in supporting an AI-native pharmaceutical technology company that is transforming formulation development through proprietary Causal AI. You'll work closely with the founders and Chief Commercial Officer to build and own the company's marketing function—from defining brand positioning and messaging to driving demand generation, marketing operations, and qualified pipeline growth.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic marketing leadership with hands-on execution, and who thrives in fast-moving startup environments where ownership, experimentation, and measurable business impact are expected. Rather than functioning as a traditional marketing manager, you'll act as a strategic growth partner responsible for building scalable marketing systems, translating complex scientific concepts into compelling commercial narratives, and driving marketing performance from end to end.

### Accountability

Your success as the Head of Marketing will be defined by your ability to build a scalable marketing engine, generate qualified pipeline, and establish marketing as a key driver of commercial growth. Here's how you'll make an impact:

### Marketing Strategy & Leadership

- Own the company's end-to-end marketing strategy across brand, demand generation, and commercial growth.
- Build a scalable marketing engine that supports long-term business objectives.
- Define positioning and messaging for highly technical pharmaceutical products.
- Translate complex scientific concepts into compelling, commercially relevant narratives.
- Continuously refine the company's value proposition based on customer insights and market feedback.

### Brand & Positioning

- Own the company's brand identity, messaging architecture, and positioning strategy.
- Ensure consistency across the website, presentations, sales collateral, campaigns, and digital channels.
- Develop messaging tailored to biotech and pharmaceutical audiences.
- Balance scientific credibility with clear, engaging commercial storytelling.

### Website & Conversion Optimization

- Transform the company website into a high-performing lead generation platform.
- Partner with external design and development agencies to improve website performance.
- Optimize messaging, user experience, and conversion pathways.
- Run A/B tests and landing page experiments to improve conversion rates.
- Identify friction points throughout the customer journey and implement data-driven improvements.

### Demand Generation

- Build scalable inbound and outbound marketing campaigns that generate qualified opportunities.
- Develop LinkedIn thought leadership and content strategies.
- Create email nurture sequences and outbound marketing initiatives.
- Support Account-Based Marketing (ABM) programs targeting strategic prospects.
- Partner closely with Sales to improve lead quality and conversion.

### Agency & Vendor Management

- Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and marketing partners.
- Develop creative briefs and project requirements.
- Ensure high-quality execution, accountability, and timely delivery.
- Evaluate agency performance using measurable business outcomes.

### Sales Enablement & Marketing Operations

- Partner closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and founders to support commercial initiatives.
- Develop sales presentations, case studies, marketing collateral, and customer-facing assets.
- Translate customer feedback into marketing improvements.
- Strengthen alignment between Sales and Marketing through scalable processes and enablement resources.

### Marketing Analytics & AI Operations

- Build dashboards, attribution models, and marketing reporting frameworks.
- Measure marketing effectiveness through qualified pipeline, conversion, and ROI metrics.
- Leverage AI tools to improve productivity, streamline execution, and optimize workflows.
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies that enhance marketing performance.

### Colleagues

You'll work closely with the founders, Chief Commercial Officer, external agencies, sales stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, acting as the strategic marketing leader responsible for driving brand growth, demand generation, and commercial success.

At Oceans Talent, you'll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you're continuously growing and developing in your career.
