## Description

**Optimal**, on behalf of its client, a company operating in the food manufacturing and retail sector, is looking for an experienced **Senior Buyer** to lead its strategic procurement function.

**Scope of Role**

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that quality, cost efficiency, and innovation are reflected in every purchasing decision, supporting the company's continued growth and commercial success.

**Responsibilities**

-   Lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of both raw materials for production and third-party products for the company's retail network.
-   Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers across local and international markets.
-   Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and supplier agreements to achieve optimal business outcomes.
-   Continuously identify new products, suppliers, producers, and innovative sourcing opportunities that enhance the company's product portfolio.
-   Monitor market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and supplier performance to support informed purchasing decisions.
-   Analyze and optimize Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
-   Collaborate closely with Product Development, Production, and Retail teams to ensure the selection of the most suitable products and suppliers.
-   Support pricing strategy by contributing to margin analysis and commercial decision-making.
-   Develop demand forecasts and purchasing plans to ensure product availability while minimizing waste and inventory risks.
-   Ensure suppliers consistently meet the company's quality, reliability, and service standards.

## Requirements

-   Proven experience in a Senior Buyer, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or similar purchasing role within the food manufacturing, food retail or related industry.
-   Strong knowledge of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), product costing, gross margin analysis, and commercial finance.
-   Solid experience in demand forecasting, inventory planning, and procurement strategy.
-   Established network of suppliers within the food industry is highly desirable.
-   Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
-   Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven commercial decisions.
-   Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
-   Highly organized, detail-oriented, and commercially driven.
-   Passion for food, ingredients, product innovation, and market trends.
-   Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
