Pacific Wildlife Care (PWC) is one of the premier wildlife rehabilitation centers in California, and the only organization in San Luis Obispo County licensed by California Fish & Wildlife & US Wildlife Services. PWC is qualified and medically trained to provide treatment and rehabilitation services for injured, orphaned, sick and pollution-damaged birds, land/air mammals, and reptiles/amphibians. The facility treats 2,500 – 3,000 wildlife patients each year and responds to 10,000 to 15,000 wildlife-related phone calls.
PWC is also a member organization and a primary care facility for the Oiled Wildlife Care Network. In the event of a catastrophic oil spill between Monterey and Santa Barbara, PWC staff and volunteers are trained and poised to provide technical and hands-on support.
