# Chief of Staff for US D2C Supplement Brand (Remote)

> Paired · United States (Remote) · — · Posted 2026-09-14

**Workplace:** remote

**Department:** Abigail Lima

## Description

**About Paired**

Paired is a global staffing and recruiting agency that specializes in pairing remote work with top-tier talent!

We are dedicated to connecting talented individuals with remarkable companies in need of their skills. Our goal is to create fulfilling job opportunities for professionals around the world.

**About our Client**

They're a **direct-to-consumer subscriptio**n brand that has gone from **zero to a multiple nine-figure run** rate in under **three years** — completely bootstrapped, with a small, lean team spread across the globe. No outside capital, no board, no bureaucracy. We sell across our own D2C site, Amazon, and TikTok Shop, with a subscription retention engine underneath it all.

They grew fast enough that structure never caught up with scale. That is the problem this role exists to solve.

**The role**

The CEO currently has roughly 25 people, agencies, and suppliers reporting to him across Customer Service, TikTok Shop, Amazon, Operations, Retention, and Finance — plus a running list of ~20 ad hoc growth projects. There is no layer between him and the work. Every decision, follow-up, deadline, blocker, and loose thread routes to one inbox.

The Chief of Staff is that layer. You will own the operating system of the company: who owns what, how they're measured, what they committed to, and whether it actually happened. You'll also own a rotating portfolio of high-leverage projects end to end, and you'll handle the CEO's calendar, inbox, and meeting follow-up so his time goes to product, partnerships, and P&L.

This is not a coordination job. **You are expected to get into the weeds**, do the work yourself, push people, and **raise the standard**. You start reporting directly to the CEO with influence rather than formal authority — and as you prove you can handle it, you'll be given the authority to escalate, reassign, and put underperformers on a plan.

**Where this goes:** if you crush this role, the path is C-suite or President within two years. That is a real offer, not a recruiting line.

**What You'll Do**

- **Own accountability and urgency across every function.** Each person and agency has KPIs, deadlines, and commitments. You track them, follow up individually, unblock what's stuck, enforce urgency, and make sure the owner knows they own the outcome. Functions include TikTok Shop (8 people), Amazon (agency of 5), Operations (3 suppliers, 3 in-house), Retention (email agency, in-house dev, media buyer), and Finance (3 in-house, 1 agency).
- **Build the process map of the entire business**. Every role titled and defined, every responsibility documented, every recurring workflow written up as an SOP, every doc and tracker findable, a clear reporting and ownership structure, and clear written criteria for how someone earns a bonus, earns a promotion, or gets let go.
- **Triage everything currently flowing to the CEO**. For each item: handle it yourself, route it to the right manager, automate it, or kill it. The goal is that it stops reaching him.
- **Own high-leverage projects end to end.** You'll be handed ad hoc projects — growth initiatives, new channel tests, vendor negotiations, systems builds — with a goal and little else. You scope them, run them, hire or coordinate whoever is needed, and report meaningful progress in a weekly check-in without being managed step by step.
- **Turn conversations into tracked action**. Sit in on calls, capture decisions and action items from meetings, Slack, and WhatsApp, assign owners and dates, and chase them to done.
- **Run the CEO's calendar, inbox, and meeting prep.** Full ownership — scheduling, prioritization, prep material, follow-up.
- **Raise the bar on the people around you. Give direct feedback, flag underperformance early, and help managers hold their own teams accountable rather than** doing it for them forever.

## Requirements

**Must-Have**

- Demonstrated ability to learn fast and independently. If we hand you ClickUp on a Friday and say "know it by Monday," you find YouTube tutorials, book a consultant call, and figure it out yourself in a few hours. We don't care what tools you've used — we care that you can teach yourself anything.
- You're smart and hands-on. You need to reason through complex business problems and handle people well enough that they want to deliver for you.
- Genuine humility. Zero ego. You take direct feedback well, ask for more of it, and are never "above" the work. If a spreadsheet needs cleaning at 11 PM, you clean it.
- Willingness to do the work yourself. This role manages and executes. Delegating without getting your hands dirty is a disqualifier.
- Comfort with ambiguity and total ownership. Given a problem in a domain you know nothing about, your reaction is excitement, not fear.
- Directness. You give and receive blunt feedback without it becoming personal or political.
- Real work capacity. This is a 50-hour minimum role with frequent nights and weekends. We're a startup that moves quickly and we're honest about what that costs.
- Availability during US Eastern hours within the 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM ET window.
- Excellent written and spoken English.

**Nice-to-have**

- A track record of excellence in a competitive environment. Top marks academically, a strong university, high-level competitive sports or esports, elite early-career roles, a company you built — something that shows you've been in a room full of winners and held your own.
- E-commerce experience — D2C, Amazon, or TikTok Shop especially.
- Subscription or retention business experience.
- Prior Chief of Staff, founder's associate, consulting, or investment banking background.
- Experience building SOPs, process documentation, or operating cadences from scratch.
- Experience managing agencies and offshore contractors.

**Note on weighting:** soft skills outrank hard skills here. A candidate with less e-commerce experience but smart, hands on, humble, faster learning speed, and a stronger record of excellence beats a domain expert who's rigid or ego-driven. Hire for the athlete.

## Benefits

- Base: $6,000 – $8,000 USD/month, depending on experience (negotiable for the right fit!)

- Bonus: 20% of base annually, tied to project completion and KPI attainment
- Structure: W-2 or 1099 — your choice
- Remote: Work from anywhere, as long as you cover Eastern hours
- Growth: Direct, stated path to C-suite or President within two years for the right performer

**The Culture**

They move fast, communicate directly, and don't sugarcoat feedback. There are no politics, no vanity titles, and no tenure — you don't get status here for having been around. You keep what you kill: results drive promotions, bonuses, and authority.

Everyone here holds absurdly high standards for themselves and the people around them, and the standard keeps going up. Good is never the finish line. If that sounds exhausting, this isn't the right fit. If it sounds like the environment you've been looking for, it's rare that you get it at this scale with this little bureaucracy.
