> JazzWorld · Islamabad, Pakistan · Full-time · Posted 2026-10-02

**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** B2B Marketing & Products

## Description

**Grade Level:** L3

**Location:** Islamabad

**Last date to apply: 9th October 2026**

**What is Lead – Cloud Platform Operations & Capacity?**

The Lead – Cloud Platform Operations & Capacity is the senior technical owner for cloud platform operations and capacity within Jazz Enterprise Solutions. The role keeps hosted platform services available for the customers who depend on them, and delivers the engineering work that expands and modernises the estate.

The environment spans enterprise virtualisation and container platforms, storage and data protection, and the platform networking required to operate a multi-tenant hosted service to contractual availability commitments.

The role covers both halves of that. Day to day: operations, capacity, change and incident management. Alongside it: the programme of platform upgrades, expansion and modernisation.

This is a hands-on technical role. It sets operating standards for the platform, works with the platform engineering team on design and delivery, and manages OEM and professional-services support on complex change.

The role reports to the Head of Cloud Platform (Implementation & Operations). It does not carry direct reports.

**What does Lead – Cloud Platform Operations & Capacity do?**

**Scope and boundaries**

•     Senior technical owner for cloud platform operations, capacity, and the engineering work that upgrades and expands the estate.

•     Sets technical direction for platform operations and delivers alongside the platform engineering team.

•     Customer on-prem deployments sit with the Systems Integration team. This role owns the hosted platform.

**Platform operations**

•     Keep the platform available and performing against the availability commitments customers hold.

•     Own incident, problem and change management for the platform.

•     Plan and govern patching, firmware and lifecycle maintenance across compute, storage, backup and virtualisation.

•     Act as senior technical escalation on major platform incidents and lead root-cause analysis.

•     Own the runbooks, monitoring coverage and operational documentation, and keep them current as the platform changes.

**Capacity**

•     Track allocation and utilisation across compute, memory, storage and backup, and report it on an agreed cadence.

•     Plan capacity so new workloads are accepted against available headroom, and raise constraints early.

•     Forecast capacity requirements with the technical evidence behind them.

•     Assess the capacity impact of large customer workloads before they are taken onto the platform.

**Upgrades and expansion**

•     Own technical delivery of major virtualisation platform upgrades: design, test plan, cutover, rollback, and related licensing dependencies.

•     Own technical delivery of storage, backup and compute expansion, from specification through commissioning and into service.

•     Support data centre facility and new-site programmes with platform input.

•     Plan and run platform change in live production with defined fallback criteria and appropriate customer communication.

•     Bring in OEM and professional services where the work needs it, and manage them technically.

**Security and resilience**

•     Work with the cybersecurity team so the platform is covered by the organisation's identity, access and logging controls, and so privileged change on the platform follows those controls.

•     Own backup, replication and disaster recovery for the platform. Test failover and measure recovery objectives rather than assume them.

•     Support audit and compliance reviews of the platform, including customer and regulatory requests.

**Vendors and professional services**

•     Work with OEM support and professional-services organisations on complex platform work.

•     Hold vendors to agreed deliverables, quality and timelines on the engagements this role manages.

**What success looks like after twelve months**

•     Capacity reporting established, and new workloads planned against available headroom.

•     Planned platform upgrades delivered without customer-impacting downtime.

•     Expansion capacity commissioned and in service.

•     Disaster recovery tested, with recovery objectives documented against customer commitments.

•     Runbooks and monitoring coverage in place across platform components.

Jazz is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate, support, and thrive on diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

## Requirements

**What are we looking for and what does it require to be Lead – Cloud Platform Operations & Capacity?**

**Experience and education**

•     Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

•     10+ years in enterprise virtualisation, private cloud or data centre infrastructure engineering, hands-on, including time running a production platform that paying customers depend on.

•     Experience operating a multi-tenant cloud or hosting platform with availability commitments attached to it.

•     Platform migrations and expansions delivered in live production: virtualisation upgrades, storage and compute growth, with structured rollback and evidence of testing.

•     Experience working with OEM professional services and support organisations on complex platform work.

•     Exposure to data centre facility work is useful: power, cooling, tier certification requirements and commissioning.

**Technical**

•     VMware virtualisation (vSphere, vCenter) and software-defined data centre technologies. Experience of major version migrations is a strong advantage.

•     Container platforms: Red Hat OpenShift or equivalent.

•     Storage and data protection: enterprise block and object storage, software-defined storage, and enterprise backup and replication tooling and the storage fabric beneath them, including zoning and multipathing.

•     Server platform lifecycle: enterprise server hardware, firmware and driver currency, hardware compatibility validation ahead of platform upgrades, and out-of-band management.

•     Platform networking in a multi-tenant context, including segmentation and isolation.

•     Working knowledge of enterprise identity, access and logging tooling.

•     Monitoring, capacity and automation tooling, and enough scripting to remove repetitive operational work.

•     Certifications: VMware VCP or VCAP (VCIX an advantage), Red Hat OpenShift, storage and backup vendor certifications, ITIL.

**Market and domain**

•     Experience running platforms that host regulated customers, particularly in financial services, and meeting their audit and availability requirements.

•     Familiarity with SLA constructs, and with how availability is measured, reported and defended to a customer.

•     Working knowledge of the local OEM, distributor and partner ecosystem.

**How you work**

•     Comfortable improving a platform while it remains in full service.

•     Methodical about change: plans, fallbacks, test evidence, documentation.

•     Straight about risk. Raises capacity and resilience issues early, with the numbers behind them.

•     Works well with platform engineering, Technical Support & Service Assurance, Systems Integration, cybersecurity, Tech PMO and Supply Chain.

•     Available for platform change windows and on-call, which mostly fall outside office hours.

•     Willing to travel between sites as delivery requires.
