**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Research & Resources to join our team, reporting to the Executive Director Governance & Research. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for AIGI's research, resources, publications, Toolkit content and knowledge translation activities.

You will ensure research insights are translated into accessible, culturally grounded and practical resources that strengthen First Nations governance and support AIGI's delivery, advisory, learning and fee-for-service work, while providing direct supervision to our Project Officers.

Your main role responsibilities include:

-   Leading the delivery of AIGI's research, knowledge and resource priorities, ensuring work aligns with the Strategic Plan, Business Plan and the needs of First Nations governance bodies
-   Ensuring research and resource activity reflects Indigenous Data Sovereignty, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property, cultural governance, consent and community accountability
-   Overseeing the development, review and improvement of resources including Toolkit content, practical guides, case studies, governance stories, reports and publications
-   Managing content pipelines, publication schedules, resource libraries and review cycles, and maintaining accountability for the technical performance of the Toolkit
-   Managing Research & Resources workplans, workflow and project priorities, including coordinating the day-to-day work of the Project Officers - Research & Resources
-   Building and maintaining respectful working relationships with First Nations organisations, communities, contributors, researchers and sector stakeholders
-   Providing clear, visible and supportive leadership to direct reports, including work planning, coaching, feedback and performance support
-   Any additional tasks that align with your role and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director Governance & Research

**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**

To be successful in this role, you ideally have:

-   Experience leading or coordinating research, policy, publications, resources, Toolkit content, knowledge translation or related projects
-   Demonstrated ability to work with Indigenous organisations, communities and individuals in culturally appropriate ways
-   Strong understanding of Indigenous governance, culturally grounded knowledge production and research practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts
-   Understanding of Indigenous Data Sovereignty, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property, permissions, consent and culturally accountable resource development
-   Exceptional writing, editing and knowledge translation skills, including reports, resources, Toolkit content, policy insights and publications
-   Experience supervising staff, coordinating project teams, managing workflows or supporting capability development
-   Experience preparing, reviewing or quality assuring high-quality written outputs such as reports, resources, case studies or publications
-   Relevant tertiary qualification in Indigenous studies, public policy, governance, social sciences, research, communications or education, or equivalent experience
