### **Accounting Manager (GAAP, Month-End Close, QuickBooks, Payroll – Remote, U.S. Hours)**

### **About the Role**

We’re hiring an **Accounting Manager** to own **month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, and core accounting operations** across complex, multi-entity environments.

This is a **hands-on, execution-focused role** for someone who thrives on accuracy, understands **accrual-based accounting (GAAP)**, and can manage **multi-entity financial workflows** with confidence.

### **Responsibilities**

### **Month-End Close & Financial Reporting**

-   Execute accurate and timely **month-end close processes**
-   Prepare **financial statements and reports** aligned with client requirements
-   Maintain clean, structured **workpapers and documentation**
-   Ensure compliance with **GAAP standards and reporting timelines**

### **Payroll & Employee Setup**

-   Process payroll using systems like **Gusto, ADP, or Paylocity**
-   Manage **employee onboarding in payroll systems**
-   Ensure compliance with **U.S. payroll regulations**

### **Core Accounting Operations**

-   Oversee:

-   **Accounts Payable (AP)**
-   **Accounts Receivable (AR)**

-   Maintain **general ledger accuracy** across multiple entities
-   Manage daily accounting activities with strong attention to detail

### **Sales Tax & Compliance**

-   Calculate and file **U.S. state sales tax** accurately and on time
-   Maintain proper documentation for **tax filings and compliance**

### **Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting**

-   Build and maintain **custom financial reports**
-   Support **budgeting and forecasting processes**
-   Provide financial insights and data for **decision-making**

### **Process Improvement & Documentation**

-   Review and document existing accounting processes
-   Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
-   Standardize workflows across systems and clients

### **Client & Internal Coordination**

-   Communicate with leadership on priorities and timelines
-   Support **client-facing financial communication** when needed

### **Requirements (Must-Have)**

-   5+ years of experience in **accounting or finance**
-   Strong experience with:

-   **Accrual accounting / GAAP financials**

-   Experience managing **multi-entity or multi-location accounting**
-   Proficiency in:

-   **QuickBooks Online (or Desktop/Enterprise)**

-   Advanced **Excel skills**:

-   XLOOKUP
-   INDEX/MATCH
-   Pivot Tables
-   Data analysis

-   Experience with **payroll systems (Gusto or similar)**
-   Experience with **U.S. sales tax filings**
-   Strong written and verbal **English communication skills**

### **Nice to Have**
