About the Role

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented **Video Editor** who can turn raw footage into polished, engaging content that captures attention and communicates a clear message.

You’ll work across a variety of video formats, including short-form social content, advertisements, promotional videos, educational content, testimonials, and longer-form videos. The ideal candidate understands both the technical side of editing and the creative side of storytelling, pacing, hooks, and audience retention.

Key Responsibilities

-   Edit raw footage into polished, professional videos aligned with brand guidelines and creative direction.
-   Create engaging **short-form content** for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.
-   Edit **long-form content** such as YouTube videos, interviews, podcasts, webinars, and educational content.
-   Build strong hooks and maintain effective pacing to improve viewer engagement and retention.
-   Add captions, graphics, transitions, sound effects, music, B-roll, and other visual elements where appropriate.
-   Perform basic color correction and color grading to maintain a consistent visual style.
-   Clean, mix, and balance audio for professional-quality output.
-   Repurpose long-form footage into multiple short-form pieces of content.
-   Follow creative briefs while also recommending edits and creative approaches that improve the final product.
-   Organize project files, raw footage, graphics, audio, and exported assets efficiently.
-   Manage multiple editing projects and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
-   Incorporate feedback and revisions quickly without sacrificing quality.
-   Stay current with social media editing styles, platform trends, formats, and content best practices.

Required Experience & Skills

-   **2+ years of professional video editing experience.**
-   Strong portfolio demonstrating both creative and technical editing ability.
-   Advanced proficiency with **Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar professional editing software**.
-   Experience editing short-form social media content.
-   Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, hooks, and viewer retention.
-   Experience with captions, motion graphics, B-roll, transitions, and sound design.
-   Working knowledge of color correction and audio editing.
-   Ability to take raw footage and independently determine how to structure it into an engaging final video.
-   Strong attention to detail and quality control.
-   Ability to follow brand guidelines and maintain consistency across content.
-   Strong organizational and file-management skills.
-   Comfortable receiving feedback and completing revisions.
-   Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

-   Experience with **Adobe After Effects** or other motion graphics software.
-   Experience creating paid social/video advertisements.
-   Experience editing podcasts or talking-head content.
-   Experience creating thumbnails or basic graphics using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools.
-   Understanding of YouTube analytics, audience retention, CTR, and social media performance metrics.
-   Experience using AI-assisted video editing or content creation tools.
-   Familiarity with content repurposing workflows.

What We're Looking For

We are not looking for someone who simply cuts clips together. We want an editor who understands **why people keep watching**.

You should have a strong creative eye and be able to recognize when a video needs a faster cut, stronger opening, better B-roll, cleaner audio, a visual interruption, or a different structure. You should be comfortable working independently while still following the overall creative direction of the brand.
