Paytm Canada has significantly increased the scope and breadth of its financial operations in Canada over the last five years. What was once a two-person operation has blossomed into a fully-fledged team of data scientists, engineers and business professionals. We continue to build technologies that create the fastest growing mobile payments and e-commerce ecosystem possible.
Located in Toronto, Paytm Canada began as the research and development division of Paytm. Since 2014, the Company has applied big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning to Paytm’s data assets to provide optimal financial products to over 400 million Paytm India consumers.
In spring of 2017, Paytm Canada launched a first of its kind consumer-facing mobile application, allowing Canadians to pay all their bills using multiple payment options, without paying service fees. A loyalty program, called ‘Paytm Points’ was later introduced allowing customers to earn points on every payment that was made using the App. Customers are able to redeem the points for free or discounted e-gift cards from top brands available in Canada. Customers can also send and receive money nationwide, all from the convenience of their smartphone.
Paytm Canada has invested more than $50 million to grow its operations in Canada over the next decade.
