# Exercise Physiologist | Sunshine Coast | EP Led Practice with Gym Based Rehab

> Proactive Health · Maroochydore, Australia · Full-time · Posted 2026-10-22

**Salary:** AUD 85,000–90,000

**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** Richard Mozeley

## Description

I’m Stuart, and I look after talent across the Proactive Health network. I live on the Sunshine Coast, so this one’s close to home for me. And I think it’s one of the best EP roles we’ve got on the books right now.

Here’s why. Adaptive Bodies is an EP led practice. The director (Richard) is an EP, and the senior team are EPs too. When you talk about clinical reasoning, program design or a tricky chronic pain case, you’re talking to people who do exactly what you do and do it really well. You won’t find that in many clinics where the EP is an afterthought.

Proactive Health is a national network of more than 40 allied health businesses across 350+ locations in Australia. We bring independent clinic owners together under one standard of clinical excellence. In practice, that means you get the support, governance and development of a big organisation, while working in a local practice where the owner knows you and your clients personally.

You’ll join Adaptive Bodies Allied Health, led by Richard Mozeley, Director and Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Richard has built a team of rehab specialists across seven locations, from Caloundra and Beerwah up to Coolum, Woodford and Gympie, and there are three senior EPs in the team. His philosophy is simple: get clients from injury to full independence and keep them there. This role is based in Maroochydore.

**Your Week**

This is a genuinely broad scope. Your caseload covers chronic disease, post surgical and joint replacement rehab, falls prevention, chronic pain, neurodevelopmental support for kids and adults with ASD and ADHD, and WorkCover rehabilitation, DVA, NDIS and Home Care Packages if they’re in the mix.

The WorkCover model is a real point of difference. Instead of clearing someone from a clinic room and wishing them luck, Adaptive Bodies runs rehab inside a real gym from day one. By the time clients are discharged, they’re already back training with confidence.

You might start a Tuesday with a post knee replacement client, then see a young person with ADHD for a sensory regulation session. Later in the day you could be running one of the bulk billed Type 2 diabetes group classes at Goodlife Maroochydore.

Day to day, you’ll be:

- Running comprehensive assessments, including functional testing, health screening and exercise capacity
- Designing evidence based programs for clinic, gym, home and community settings
- Delivering individual sessions and group classes, including T2DM education and exercise
- Guiding WorkCover clients through graduated return to work and return to gym programs
- Working with a biopsychosocial approach to chronic pain
- Coordinating care with GPs, case managers and other providers
- Keeping your clinical documentation in line with ESSA standards and Proactive Health’s governance framework

As for the lifestyle: it’s the Sunshine Coast. Beaches before work, the hinterland on weekends, and Brisbane an hour down the highway when you need it. I don’t need to oversell that part.

## Requirements

- ESSA accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, or eligibility for accreditation
- A recognised degree in Exercise Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology
- Current professional indemnity insurance, or willingness to obtain it
- A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for travel between sites
- A National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, current or willing to obtain
- A Queensland Blue Card, current or willing to obtain
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and program design skills
- Confidence in a gym setting and comfort running group sessions

Nice to have, but not essential: WorkCover or injury management experience, chronic pain experience using a biopsychosocial approach, an interest in working with neurodivergent clients, and strength and conditioning experience.

New graduates: I’d genuinely love to hear from you. With three senior EPs in the team, you’ll have real clinical mentoring around you every day.
