### **WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**

We're looking for experienced engineers to develop our backend architecture.

With the rest of the team, you’ll build a resilient, service-oriented architecture and deploy your code daily without fear of breaking things.

This role pays a salary range of:

-   **EUR** **3,000 – 5,000** gross for an employment contract
-   **EUR 3,600 – 6,000** for a B2B contract

With an equity grant of:

-   **USD 14,700 - 34,000** in stock options (4 years with a 1-year cliff)

### **ABOUT THE JOB**

This role blends technical problem-solving, efficient feature delivery, and knowledge-sharing to drive innovation.

### **DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES**

-   Planning, developing, and ultimately owning product features
-   Writing and maintaining automated tests
-   Using metrics to help inform technical decisions
-   Deploying to production several times a week, based on our release process
-   Building a knowledge base for the entire team
-   Reviewing pull requests from other team members and getting your PRs reviewed
-   Providing technical support to other colleagues as you become more familiar with the product
-   Researching and learning about third-party services and APIs
-   Writing and maintaining developer documentation

The ideal candidate for Productive is a software engineer with industry experience in building backend applications — ideally **5+ years**, but we care more about what you’ve built and how you work than just how long you’ve been doing it.

We’re looking for a **strong mid-level** engineer who can take ownership of features, contribute to technical decisions, and help push projects forward. While experience matters, your ability to build, improve, and collaborate effectively is what we value most.

If you’ve worked in environments where you’ve taken real ownership of projects, we’d love to hear from you — even if your experience doesn’t fit a rigid "X years" mold.

So, if you recognize yourself in some of the following characteristics, we’ll be happy to meet you:

-   An understanding of APIs and web development in general
-   Knowledge of at least one backend stack (Rails, Django, Laravel, ASP.NET, etc.)
-   Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database architecture (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.)
-   Some experience with CI/CD systems, microservices architecture, and AWS stack
-   An interest in educating others and helping your team grow together
-   A drive to improve both technical architecture and development processes
