## Description

A **Python Developer** is responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our platform. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on backend development experience, and the ability to build reliable, production-grade services that support millions of users.

The ideal candidate is a smart, ambitious engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, thrives in fast-paced environments, and takes end-to-end ownership of their work. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team on critical platform migration initiatives and contribute to building highly scalable backend systems.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using **Python**.
-   Build and optimize REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
-   Contribute to key engineering initiatives, including:

-   **Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal**
-   **Communication Platform Migration**

-   Work with **MySQL**, **Kafka**, and **AWS** to build reliable and fault-tolerant systems.
-   Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
-   Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
-   Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
-   Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
-   Take end-to-end ownership of features—from design and development to deployment and monitoring.
-   Continuously improve engineering practices, code quality, and system performance.

## Requirements

Candidates who demonstrate:

-   **2–3 years** of hands-on experience in backend development using **Python**.
-   Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
-   Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend applications.
-   Hands-on experience with **MySQL** or other relational databases.
-   Experience working with **AWS** cloud services.
-   Experience with **Kafka** or other messaging/event-streaming platforms.
-   Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
-   Familiarity with version control (Git) and software development best practices.
-   Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-   Excellent communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset.
