**Location: Hybrid - Chico, Yuba City or Marysville, California, with the ability to travel and onsite event support up to 40% within our market areas on weekend and evenings. Work will be primarily performed remotely from home office. Employee will be required to utilize personal phone and internet services to perform telecommuting with reimbursement according to applicable procedures. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off-site locations may be required.**

**Position Impact:**

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with community organizations, businesses, residents, and stakeholders throughout Northern California to increase engagement, foster partnerships, and support organizational goals. This role leads community outreach efforts, plans and coordinates events and programs, serves as a primary point of contact for community inquiries, and identifies opportunities to expand the organization's presence and impact. The specialist collaborates cross-functionally with marketing and operations teams to promote initiatives, create presentations and outreach materials, collect and report engagement data, and evaluate program effectiveness. Through strategic relationship-building, event management, research, and public relations activities, the Community Engagement Specialist helps drive community participation, enhance brand visibility, and support the successful implementation of community-focused programs and initiatives.

## Requirements

**Qualifications and Experience:**

• Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship

• Minimum of 18 years of age

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) communications, public relations, social work or equivalent education in a related field of study is preferred

• A valid driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or related roles

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning and community programming

• Ability to travel up to 40%, work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

• Familiarity with post event analysis and HubSpot and SafesForce desirable

• The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication

• Proficiency in Spanish Language desirable

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities

• Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications

• Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

Community Outreach, Partnership and Program Development:

• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and increase engagement

• Create meaningful and engaging community opportunities for serviceable MDUs/HOAs within the Northern California region

• Serve as the primary contact for community inquiries, fostering trust and open communication

• Identify and pursue partnership opportunities to support community-driven initiatives and goals

• Plan and coordinate community engagement events and activities across Northern California markets to enhance visibility and participation

• Research outreach opportunities and implement strategies to increase community involvement and reputation

• Attend community meetings and events to advance our mission, engage with diverse communities, and represent the organization

• Conduct outreach activities, including site visits, collaborating with residents, community leaders, and agencies for developing partnerships

• Support the development of new community programs and initiatives that align with organizational goals

• Assist in evaluating program effectiveness, gathering participant feedback, and recommending improvements

Event Planning and Coordination:

• Plan, coordinate, and host community events, workshops, and forums to encourage public participation and engagement

• Manage event logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, promotion, and post-event evaluation

• Serve as on-site contact for supporting internal team

• Collaborate with marketing to create outreach materials and promote events across channels

• Support Event Manager and Marketing Operations Team with deck/presentation creation for proposed events

• Generate reports on program data, outreach activities, and community success

• Create and maintain a tracking system for community partners and chamber of commerce in active markets

• Monitor inventory of event materials and equipment, and request or restock as needed

Communication and Public Relations:

• Develop and deliver presentations to inform the community about initiatives and events

• Manage and update the organization’s community outreach calendar and relevant sections of the website

• Collect and Capture Content to be used from Events for Race Communications Marketing Team

• Use data and feedback to report on community engagement impact, adjusting strategies as needed to improve outreach effectiveness

Research and Data Collection:

• Conduct research to understand community needs, concerns, and feedback, sharing insights with internal teams to inform strategic initiatives

Collect, analyze, and report on engagement metrics, using findings to enhance outreach efforts
