## Description

**Summary**

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas is a trusted provider of advanced measurement and sensing solutions, supporting customers across a wide range of industries with technologies designed to improve quality, safety, and performance. Our solutions help organizations make informed decisions through accurate measurement, reliable data, and application-focused support.

Within our Gas Monitoring business, KMSA provides solutions that help customers monitor, measure, and manage gas-related applications with confidence. This area supports important needs related to safety, compliance, environmental monitoring, process control, and operational efficiency. As customer requirements continue to evolve, our Gas Monitoring team plays a key role in delivering consultative support, technical expertise, and reliable sensing solutions that help customers protect people, processes, and the environment.

The Technical Sales Specialist (Gas Monitoring Solutions) will drive revenue growth by capturing market share for our cutting-edge quantitative Optical Gas Imaging (qOGI) technology. This role is dedicated to identifying customer needs across heavy industrial sectors and delivering tailored solutions that improve environmental compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented sales professional to accelerate the adoption of our infrared gas detection cameras. Our solution allows operators to not only visualize but quantify methane and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions quickly in the field, providing critical data for compliance and loss prevention.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in consultative capital equipment sales, established relationships within the natural gas processing and midstream markets, and the ability to confidently communicate the economic, operational, and regulatory value of gas detection and quantification solutions to technical and executive-level stakeholders.

## Requirements

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Market Expansion & Direct Sales**

• Targeted Business Development: Prospect, qualify, and close high-value enterprise accounts, targeting budgets that accommodate multi-unit purchases, within the Oil & Gas (upstream/midstream), Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), LNG bunkering/processing, and Chemical Processing sectors.

• Solution Demonstrations: Conduct high-impact technical presentations and live, on-site product demonstrations of the qOGI camera to environmental health and safety (EHS) managers, LDAR teams, and operations executives.

• Value-Based Selling: Successfully communicate the ROI of real-time gas quantification versus standard detection, tying the technology to regulatory compliance (e.g., EPA, state-level emissions mandates) and product loss reduction.

• Contract Negotiation: Manage complex capital equipment sales cycles, from initial technical scoping through corporate procurement and contract finalization.

• Quota Achievement: Consistently meet or exceed the team sales target of 15–20 qOGI camera units per year.

• Distributor & Channel Partner Development

• Channel Strategy: Identify, onboard, and manage specialized industrial equipment distributors and manufacturer representatives across Colorado and surrounding key energy basins.

· Enablement & Support: Provide continuous technical, application, and sales training to distributors to ensure accurate market positioning and territory penetration.

• Pipeline Management: Oversee distributor sales pipelines to ensure active forecasting and consistent market coverage.

• Customer Success & Technical Support

• Implementation & Training: Lead the initial delivery, customer onboarding, and field training for site operators to ensure successful adoption of the qOGI technology.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal application engineering, product marketing, and global R&D teams to communicate client feedback, feature requests, and market trends.

• Travel: Ability to travel 50%–70% within the designated territory for site visits, field demonstrations, and industry trade shows.

**COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIIES)**

• Consultative Sales Expertise: Execution of solution-based selling strategies tailored to long-cycle capital equipment.

• Industry Fluency: Strong working knowledge of leak detection and repair (LDAR) workflows, methane emissions tracking, and plant operations within RNG, LNG, refining, or petrochemical facilities.

• Technical Presentation Skills: Ability to confidently bridge the gap between complex optical technology/data analytics and practical, on-the-ground industrial applications.

• Global Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across diverse, international teams (including corporate headquarters in Japan) with an inclusive, collaborative mindset.

**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Marketing, or related technical/scientific field experience.

• Sales Experience: 3–5 years of proven success in B2B technical sales, specifically selling capital equipment, instrumentation, or automation solutions to the Oil & Gas, chemical processing, or utility sectors.

• Domain Expertise: Direct experience with optical gas imaging (OGI), gas detection technologies, or industrial infrared thermography is highly preferred.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations governing methane and VOC emissions (e.g., EPA OOOOa/b/c mandates) is a significant advantage.

• Track Record: A documented history of meeting or exceeding aggressive sales quotas in an autonomous or remote territory management structure.
