About the Role**

As a **Platform Architect**, you will lead the evolution of Rapsodo's backend, frontend, and mobile ecosystem into a scalable, unified platform. Working across multiple engineering teams, you'll define architectural standards, drive modernization initiatives, and shape the technical foundation that powers the next generation of Rapsodo products.  

**What You'll Do**

-   Define the long-term platform architecture and modernization roadmap across backend, frontend, and mobile systems.
-   Design shared platform services by identifying common capabilities while defining clear boundaries for product-specific domains.
-   Establish architecture standards, service boundaries, API contracts, ownership models, and scalable integration patterns.
-   Lead modernization initiatives using proven migration strategies such as Strangler Fig, feature flags, backward-compatible APIs, and incremental delivery.
-   Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate system design, documentation, code reviews, and engineering productivity.
-   Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA teams to improve platform scalability, deployment, observability, and operational excellence.
-   Mentor engineers, lead architecture and design reviews, and contribute hands-on through coding, refactoring, and technical validation.
-   Maintain architectural documentation, decision records, and platform governance while driving engineering best practices across teams.  
    

**What We're Looking For**

-   Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
-   10+ years of experience as a Software Architect, Platform Architect, or in a similar technical leadership role.
-   Proven experience modernizing complex software platforms and transforming monolithic or fragmented systems into modular architectures.
-   Deep understanding of **microservices**, **modular monoliths**, **service-oriented architecture (SOA)**, and **domain-driven design (DDD)**.
-   Strong backend development experience with **Go (Golang)** and/or **Node.js**, along with solid proficiency in object-oriented languages such as **C#**, **Java**, or **Kotlin**.
-   Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as **React** or **Vue**, and a strong understanding of full-stack architecture.
-   Strong experience designing scalable APIs, service contracts, authentication and authorization flows, and distributed systems.
-   Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (**Google Cloud Platform** or **AWS**), Docker, messaging systems, object storage, and modern cloud-native architectures.
-   Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as **Claude Code**, **GitHub Copilot**, **Cursor**, or similar solutions within engineering workflows.
-   Strong database design experience with **PostgreSQL**, **MongoDB**, or similar technologies.
-   Ability to balance long-term architectural vision with incremental product delivery and business priorities.
-   Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
