The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a small, senior engineering group as a generalist focused on backend and data work. You will build data processing pipelines, keep large-scale data collection dependable, and expose core services to other systems, working as an individual contributor.

What you'll do

\- Build pipelines that enrich documents with derived metadata and relationships between records.

\- Create systems that keep a large fleet of web scrapers reliable and accurate.

\- Optimize and evaluate core utilities for parsing and resolving references in text.

\- Expose core data services through APIs and other programmatic interfaces.

\- Benchmark and evaluate key tasks using both human and synthetic methods.

\- Stand up projects end-to-end on your preferred infrastructure, favoring simple solutions to complex problems.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- Strong engineering fundamentals, with ownership valued over loyalty to any one stack.

\- At least 2 years of hands-on engineering in a small, fast-moving company, or several years in an organization with a demanding engineering culture.

\- Willingness to work in a pure individual contributor role.

\- Demonstrated interest or experience with statistics, machine learning or AI.

\- Fluency with modern AI tooling and a practical, balanced view of it.

\- A track record of taking real responsibility for outcomes, such as launching new work from scratch or joining a company at an early stage.

\- Technical generalist breadth across the backend and comfort working with data pipelines.

Bonus points

\- Proficiency in Python and SQL.

\- Basic to intermediate infrastructure and devops experience.

\- Full-stack experience.

\- Side projects, an active GitHub or work examples that stand out.
