Our client is a law firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own a personal docket of civil defense cases and take them through every stage of the process, from early pleadings to resolution. The position calls for independent judgment and offers a defined route to higher levels of seniority.

What you'll do

\- Run a large docket of defense cases involving injuries and property-related claims.

\- Prepare and answer court filings, pleadings and written discovery requests.

\- Take and defend depositions, appear in court and meet with clients.

\- Support preparation for mediations and trials.

\- Meet an annual billable target of approximately 1,950 hours, with quarterly bonus opportunities.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- A current, good-standing license to practice law in California.

\- A JD from an ABA-approved law school.

\- Two to eight years of experience defending civil claims.

\- Background at a defense practice carrying a full docket and handling every phase of the case, not only motion work; experience on the plaintiff side alone will not be considered.

\- Proven ability to juggle 25 or more matters at once.

\- A self-directed working style with little need for oversight.

\- Based in California and available to work Pacific hours.

\- No existing client book is expected.

Bonus points

\- Hands-on experience with depositions, court appearances and discovery drafting.

\- Experience with trials or mediations.
