## Description

About the company

Our client is an early-stage software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of core infrastructure for a software platform, creating and growing isolated compute and storage systems. Collaborate with technical leadership and fellow engineers, carrying work from initial design through release and day-to-day operation.

What you'll do

\- Build and grow secure compute orchestration that safely runs code from many separate users.

\- Take charge of foundational infrastructure pieces such as compute, isolation layers and distributed storage during a shift toward a hosted offering.

\- Partner with engineering leadership, engineers and customers on problems that sit between infrastructure and product.

\- Architect storage and container components that scale well, anticipating where they might break in shared environments.

\- Drive infrastructure initiatives from early design choices through rollout, delivering in small steps.

\- Handle releases, monitoring, operational documentation and on-call duty for the services you deliver.

\- Continuously raise the reliability, speed and cost efficiency of those services.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- At least 4 years of infrastructure engineering experience, with 4 to 8 years being the typical range.

\- A track record of building core systems, not only operations or DevOps work.

\- Hands-on background running shared compute platforms with attention to tenant separation, uptime and spend.

\- Detailed knowledge of how container and sandbox technologies work internally, beyond everyday usage.

\- Proficiency in a low-level systems language, for example Rust or Go.

\- Solid grounding in Linux fundamentals.

\- Prior experience at companies focused on containers, sandboxing, storage or infrastructure.

\- A product-minded approach that links technical decisions to the user experience.

\- US work authorization without needing visa sponsorship or transfer.

Bonus points

\- Experience at early-stage startups.

\- Experience implementing file systems or databases.

\- Public code projects involving containers or infrastructure.
