## Description

About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Apply machine learning research to real production problems, taking loosely defined questions, scoping them and shipping working solutions. The work spans model evaluation, model adaptation and autonomous software agents, in close partnership with backend engineers.

What you'll do

\- Build evaluation suites to measure and improve model performance on domain-specific tasks.

\- Raise the quality of language models using a mix of input design, additional training, information lookup and step-by-step reasoning techniques.

\- Develop and refine agents that operate web and desktop software autonomously.

\- Turn feedback from live user workflows into well-bounded research problems and deploy the resulting solutions.

\- Work with backend engineers to move research improvements into production quickly.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- 3+ years of experience, with research exposure (internship, academic project or industry role) in machine learning, NLP, language models or reinforcement learning.

\- A record of taking research from ambiguity into production rather than staying in notebooks or papers.

\- Solid depth in applied language model work, with hands-on evaluation and model improvement experience.

\- Strong Python skills and the ability to ship code into production systems.

\- A BS or MS in computer science, math or machine learning.

\- High agency: able to scope ambiguous problems independently and drive them to completion.

\- Genuine motivation to work in an early-stage startup with a very fast pace.

\- Ability to work on-site five days a week.

Bonus points

\- Production experience with model adaptation, evaluation or agent-based systems.

\- A published research paper or notable academic machine learning project.

\- Infrastructure or distributed systems experience.
