The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build backend-heavy services and AI agents for a software product, owning one functional area end to end and possibly leading a small group of engineers. The work spans model pipelines, infrastructure, backend services and user-facing features, with a strong focus on reliability and auditability. A background in backend or infrastructure engineering and prior experience shipping AI agents are central to the role. What you'll do \- Own one functional area end to end, working with a small group of two to three engineers and possibly leading them. \- Build and run AI agents across the model pipeline, infrastructure, backend and user interface. \- Create verification, guardrails, monitoring and evaluation for non-deterministic AI systems so that users and reviewers can rely on them. \- Design the data context agents work from, and ingest, normalize and reconcile data from many third-party business systems. \- Build long-running, fault-tolerant workflows and idempotent, auditable writes to external systems of record. \- Spend time with end users to learn their processes before building the system that replaces the manual work. \- Contribute to full-stack work when the problem calls for it. ## Requirements What we're looking for \- At least 5 years of experience, mostly in backend or infrastructure engineering. \- Experience building and shipping AI agents in any domain. \- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related engineering field from a leading university; strong alternatives are considered for other degrees paired with comparable experience at a top technology company. \- Experience building demanding backend systems such as distributed pipelines, ledger or transactional systems, integration platforms or workflow engines. \- Authorized to work in the US and able to work on-site five days a week. ## Benefits Compensation and benefits \- Base salary: USD 190,000 to 260,000 per year Location and work model \- New York City, NY, United States \- On-site, 5 days a week \- Full-time ## Apply [Apply at Raydar](https://apply.workable.com/raydar/j/75B7EE3C53/apply) --- Powered by [Workable](https://www.workable.com)
