Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the backend services that handle payment flows and identity checks as a product moves into live production use. The work covers security, reliability, compliance controls and performance, with an emphasis on correctness and recoverability.

What you'll do

\- Build protective controls into the code itself, keeping sensitive card data scope small and covering credentials, permissions, activity records and attack analysis.

\- Manage cloud infrastructure as code, along with automated build and deployment pipelines, staged releases and rollback procedures.

\- Ensure payment authorization, settlement and reconciliation logic is safe to retry, traceable and easy to recover.

\- Set and monitor reliability targets, add instrumentation, prevent outages and write clear operational runbooks.

\- Improve response times on the transaction path and reduce the cost of each transaction.

\- Set architecture direction, write production code and take on-call responsibility for the systems you ship.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- Experience building backend systems that other engineers and teams rely on.

\- Solid grasp of keeping operations correct when things fail, including repeat-safe requests, retries, distributed state and failure modes.

\- Everyday safety habits: limiting access to what is needed, handling credentials with care, keeping activity records and anticipating how a system could be attacked.

\- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.

\- Proficiency in TypeScript or Python.

\- Clear written communication about incidents, root causes and fixes.

\- Availability to work roughly six days a week, Sunday through Friday.

\- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Bonus points

\- Experience with AWS.
