Our client is a consumer technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead product design for a consumer mobile app as the only designer, carrying work from early concept to polished delivery. Partner directly with senior leadership and engineers while helping set product direction and building the design foundations from scratch.

What you'll do

\- Own product design end to end for a mobile app, from first concept to final visual detail.

\- Design smooth mobile flows with thoughtful animation, transitions and micro-interactions that feel premium.

\- Work daily with leadership and engineers through standups, whiteboarding and design-to-engineering handoffs.

\- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap decisions, bringing a strong design point of view to open-ended problems.

\- Design features that encourage repeat use, including game-like mechanics and social elements.

\- Build and maintain a design system from the ground up, defining the visual language and brand look.

\- Partner with marketing on graphics, design assets and visual storytelling.

\- Use community and user feedback to keep refining the experience.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- 4+ years of experience designing consumer mobile products.

\- Background at a leading consumer technology company or a top-tier startup with mobile-first products.

\- Has launched a consumer mobile app with meaningful adoption (10K+ downloads) and can show real shipped work in a portfolio.

\- Expert Figma skills, including building design systems.

\- Portfolio case studies that explain the reasoning behind design decisions, from problem to outcome.

\- Comfortable being the single design resource in a fast-moving environment with a lot of uncertainty.

\- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

\- Based in NYC or willing to work on-site 5 days a week.

Bonus points

\- Background in features that drive engagement, retention or social interaction.

\- Experience with fashion, beauty or styling products.

\- Experience designing AI-powered features.
