Our client is a software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead the creation of core server-side systems for a high-volume messaging platform, taking work from initial concept through live operation. Work alongside a compact engineering group and take new product areas from nothing to launch.

What you'll do

\- Take ownership of central backend systems covering routing, delivery and automation.

\- Build and release dependable services that stay performant under very heavy traffic.

\- Lead the creation of new product areas from the ground up, beyond individual features.

\- Partner closely with a small group of engineers.

\- Tackle demanding infrastructure challenges and shorten the path from concept to production.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- Around 6 or more years of engineering experience, including recent time at a high-growth technology startup.

\- A record of quick career progression to staff, lead or founding level; long tenure at senior level is acceptable.

\- Experience building complete products from 0 to 1.

\- Professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript.

\- Experience with queue-based infrastructure such as AWS SQS.

\- Ability to drive technical projects from start to finish with little oversight.

\- Skill at explaining complex technical ideas in plain language.

\- A collaborative, team-oriented working style.

\- A technical undergraduate degree earned in the US.

Bonus points

\- Experience as a founding engineer, co-founder or early engineering hire at a startup.

\- Frontend development experience.
