**Workplace:** on_site

## Description

About the company

Our client is a technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own core machine learning systems for a hardware-based product from an early stage, moving models from prototype into dependable field use. The work spans orchestration, evaluation, deployment on constrained devices and interactive user experiences, with close access to the founders.

What you'll do

\- Build and ship production multimodal model pipelines that reason over images and video across multiple steps and tool calls.

\- Create evaluation harnesses and feedback loops that capture failures and feed customer data back into fine-tuning to raise quality each release.

\- Deliver edge inference and runtime optimization, including fallback between models under varying connectivity and latency limits.

\- Develop interactive audio and visual interfaces that adapt to different types of end users.

\- Lead training and fine-tuning of open-source models, including supervised fine-tuning, preference-based methods and quantization, for on-premise deployments.

## Requirements

What we're looking for

\- Experience taking vision-language or other multimodal systems into production for real users, with responsibility for both the models and the surrounding orchestration.

\- Background at an early-stage startup or another high-intensity engineering environment, with visible builder experience.

\- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, machine learning or engineering, or equivalent proof through shipped production AI systems.

\- Hands-on applied fine-tuning, evaluation design and model orchestration rather than pretraining from scratch.

\- Experience building multi-step agent workflows that use real tools, beyond single-turn chatbots.

\- Familiarity with deploying open-weight models on constrained or on-premise hardware, including quantization.

\- Genuine interest in computer vision, wearables and industrial applications of AI.

\- Ability to work on-site five days a week.

Bonus points

\- Production experience with AR, wearable AI or autonomous driving computer vision.

\- Master's work with a vision or multimodal research component.

\- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.

## Benefits

Compensation and benefits

\- Base salary: USD 180,000 to 230,000 per year
