## Description

Tech Lead & Product Engineer (Internal Platforms)

The Opportunity

We’re looking to bring on a full-time Tech Lead & Product Engineer to take ownership of our internal reporting dashboard and drive its evolution into a comprehensive operational platform. This is a unique hybrid role designed for a highly skilled engineer who loves writing production code but also excels at coordinating developer workflows and shaping product strategy.

In this role, you will act as the technical anchor and delivery manager for our dashboard system, which currently pulls marketing data from Meta, GA4, and other sources to automate client reporting. While you will remain deeply hands-on in the codebase, you will also be responsible for translating high-level business goals into a structured product timeline, managing sprint schedules, and unblocking the development team.

Crucially, this role focuses entirely on technical execution, product scoping, and timeline delivery; it does not carry corporate HR burdens like hiring, firing, or formal performance reviews. You will have full ownership over the code and the schedule, serving as the critical bridge between business vision and engineering execution.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Code Management

- Maintain and architect core systems for the live internal reporting dashboard and future platform extensions.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability by setting engineering standards and leading pull request reviews.
- Mentor team members, distribute technical tasks, and actively unblock developers to keep execution smooth.

Product Strategy & Timeline Ownership

- Guide the product roadmap timeline, translating business objectives into clear, phased engineering milestones.
- Lead sprint and release planning, carefully balancing technical debt, background optimization, and new feature rollouts.
- Collaborate directly with product leadership to define feature scopes, requirements, and technical boundaries.

Hands-on Development

- Build new user-facing features like saved reports, PDF export, email scheduling, and widget customization.
- Integrate and maintain external data pipelines (Meta Ads, GA4, Google Ads) while ensuring robust metrics normalization and caching.
- Optimize scheduling logic (cron), async background jobs, and queueing architectures for heavy data processing workflows.
- Lead the upcoming expansion into broader operational modules (content approvals, automated onboarding workflows, and client self-serve portals, AI).

Skills Required

Frontend

- React 19 + Next.js (App Router)
- TailwindCSS, Zustand, React Query
- Component systems (Radix UI, shadcn/ui)
- Responsive layout, drag-and-drop UI, animation polish

Backend & Infrastructure

- Node.js API routes with TypeScript
- Prisma ORM with PostgreSQL (hosted on Neon)
- Background jobs (cron, ioredis), Redis queues
- In-house session-based auth and role access logic
- Third-party API management (Meta, GA4, Google Ads) including token refresh and retry logic
- Vercel for hosting, Redis for async processing
- PDF generation (puppeteer-core, sharp) and email delivery via Resend
- AWS S3 SDK integration for secure uploads
- Strong AI skillset

Workflow & Leadership

- Outstanding communication skills in async environments, with an ability to manage timelines without micromanagement.
- Exceptional structural alignment—proven capability to balance deep-work coding slots with active project planning.
- Uses modern AI tools (Copilot, GPT) strategically to accelerate engineering output and debug complex workflows.
- Writes exceptionally clean, modular, and self-documenting code.

Nice to Have

- Previous experience transitioning from senior engineering into a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Technical Product Owner role.
- Experience architecting internal administrative dashboards, agency operations tooling, or multi-tenant reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with digital marketing metrics, attribution logic, or social analytics.
- Comfort operating in an autonomous, fast-moving early-stage team environment.
