**Workplace:** remote

## Description

Commercial litigation paralegals: this role is drafting-heavy, deadline-driven, and behind-the-scenes. No client-facing courtroom theater.

Our client is a Phoenix-based commercial litigation firm with two core practice areas — commercial litigation and commercial collections. We are hiring a Remote Paralegal to be the offshore half of their onshore paralegal team: drafting pleadings, tracking deadlines across a sizable collections docket, and running the workflow that lets the attorneys focus on substance.

You will work directly with a senior onshore paralegal who reviews your drafts and the supervising attorney on each matter. Feedback is direct and frequent in the first 60 days — that is how we get you to clean drafts faster. Success in this role looks like clean drafts, accurate dockets, on-time filings, and zero surprises for the onshore team.

This is a substantive legal support role, not an administrative one. It requires a strong working knowledge of US civil litigation procedure, document-perfect written English, and the proven ability to manage a high volume of matters at the same time without missed deadlines.

**What You Will Actually Do**

**Commercial Litigation Support**

- Draft pleadings from scratch: complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, stipulations
- Support all phases of commercial litigation, from pre-suit through trial and appeal
- Prepare and organize exhibits, binders, and supporting documentation for hearings, depositions, and trial
- Run a forward-looking deadline scan every morning; flag anything within 7 days to the supervising attorney before they ask

**Commercial Collections Support**

- Draft collections pleadings including complaints, default judgment motions, writs of garnishment, and writs of execution
- Track active collection cases from filing through judgment and post-judgment enforcement
- Prepare and process correspondence to debtors, opposing parties, and courts as directed
- Assist with documentation related to accounts receivable, judgments, and payment records

**Case Management & Docketing**

- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files and records across all assigned matters
- Track court deadlines, statute of limitations dates, hearing dates, and response deadlines using the firm's docketing system
- Send proactive written status updates to the onshore team — no one should have to chase you for a case status
- Organize and maintain digital case files in a consistent, retrievable format

**Discovery Support**

- Prepare and organize discovery: interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and responses
- Review and organize document productions; assist with privilege log preparation
- Coordinate with e-discovery vendors or internal teams for document review and production
- Prepare deposition summaries, chronologies, and witness outlines as directed

**Administrative & Team Support**

- Reduce administrative burden on the onshore team through reliable, organized support
- Handle client communication and correspondence as directed and within defined scope
- Assist with intake of new matters, including opening files, conflict checks, and initial documentation

## Requirements

**What This Role Requires**

- 2+ years drafting US litigation pleadings — not reviewing them, not formatting them, drafting them
- A track record of managing 20+ active matters without missed deadlines
- Written English clean enough that attorneys edit substance, not grammar
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while staying in close coordination with an onshore team
- Daily working-hour overlap with US Mountain Time business hours

**Helpful but Not Required**

- Commercial collections background, including post-judgment enforcement
- Arizona e-filing experience (AZTurboCourt) or e-filing in other US state courts
- Fluency with case management and docketing software (ProLaw, Clio, Aderant, CompuLaw)
- Prior support of a business or commercial litigation practice at a US law firm

**How We Work — The Honest Version**

- This role is heavy on independent drafting. If you need real-time supervision to produce work, this is not a fit.
- You will be the offshore half of an onshore team. Coordination overhead is real — proactive written communication is the job, not a soft skill.
- Deadlines in litigation are not flexible. We are looking for someone who has internalized that.

## Benefits

**Compensation**

$7–$8 USD per hour, depending on commercial collections experience and US-court e-filing fluency. Full-time, 40 hours per week, 100% remote.
