# Termite Technician

## Description

1.  Receive and review your worksheets and IPCs and clarify with your supervisor any special work or items not clearly understood, ensuring that the quota of work for any given day is expeditiously completed.

1.  Arrive at your appointments on time. Should an appointment run over the allotted time, be postponed or cancelled, you must call the appropriate personnel (Supervisor or Service Controller) at the office, immediately, for further instructions or for a replacement. 

1.  All treatments carried out must be completed as per the Integrated Pest Control (IPC) and other instructions from the Supervisor. You must use the appropriate equipment, dosage rates and techniques to discharge Termcides and other chemicals, dispense Fumigants and Affix Baits Stations and tarpaulins safely, professionally and without risk to yourself.

1.  Carry out effective pre-treatments and post-treatment against powder post beetles, subterranean termites and drywood termites. 

1.  Carry out treatment against stored product insect and other pests. Carry out In-house fumigation, fumigation of cargo containers at the ports and at customers’ premises.

1.  Comprehensively and legibly fill out Service cards, job cards, service report forms and other documents accurately, reflecting the mileage between each appointment, time spent, the preparation used, the treatment applied and any conditions which may impede the effectiveness of the job.

1.  Verbally communicate with the customer, if possible, with the view of obtaining feedback as to their level of satisfaction and concerns.

1.  Collect payment as requested by the company, cheques or cash, for pest control services or any other service delivered by the company and issue temporary receipts for all payments collected.

1.  Submit all payments directly to the designated personnel at the office ensuring that collections balance with the temporary receipts, the worksheets and what the company requested to be collected.

1.  All the company’s uniforms, vehicles, equipment, preparations and documentation are for the expressed use of carrying out the company’s business. These may not be used for any other purpose whatsoever unless prior authorization is given by the company’s management.

1.  Ensure that the vehicle assigned to you is kept secure, clean, tidy, well maintained in safe road-worthy condition, with an adequate supply of gas and oil at all times and that it is courteously and lawfully driven.

1.  Ensure that the equipment assigned to you is kept secured and in good working condition at all times and that all preparations are kept secured in their poison lockers, water-proofed, and rotated in the correct manner.

1.  Learn the company’s preparations and their application rates, ensuring that insecticidal spray, rodenticides, baits, baits stations and traps are discharged, dispensed and affixed appropriately and according to their technical specifications or as outlined in the company’s technical handbook.

1.  Ensure that you carry an adequate range of pesticides, in sufficient quantities, of Insecticidal Spray, Baits stations and traps, fumigants and tarpaulins, proofing and other chemical preparations to complete the anticipated day’s work.

## Requirements

-   BGCSE - Should have C and above in Mathematics and English, preferably
-   Fumigation School training - an advantage but not mandatory
-   Be in possession of a valid driver’s license 
-   Being able to drive a standard shift vehicle is a plus.
-   Ability to work at heights and in cramped spaces.
-   Must be 18 years of age or over.
-   Must be able to travel to Family Islands
