> Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry · Mocksville, United States · — · Posted 2026-10-15

**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** Mocksville

## Description

**About the role**
You are the first voice patients hear and the last face they see. We are looking for a Patient Coordinator who shows up, stays positive under pressure, and takes ownership of a full schedule. You will help patients understand their benefits and costs, feel confident moving forward with care, and leave with their next visit booked.

**What you will do**

- Greet patients warmly, and manage check-in and check-out accurately and efficiently
- Answer phones promptly and turn new patient calls into scheduled appointments
- Build and protect the schedule: fill openings and cancellations, work recall and unscheduled treatment lists
- Confirm upcoming appointments by phone and text to reduce no-shows
- Make sure every patient leaves with their next appointment scheduled
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before appointments, and explain coverage in plain language
- Present treatment plans and discuss fees, insurance estimates, and payment or financing options, helping patients say yes to the care they need
- Collect copays and balances at the time of service, and post payments accurately
- Keep patient records, forms, and account notes complete and accurate
- Coordinate with the clinical team so handoffs are smooth and nothing falls through the cracks
- Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA requirements

**What we need from you**

- **Reliability.** Regular, predictable, on-time attendance for your full scheduled shift is an essential function of this job. The front desk cannot open without you.
- **Presence.** This is an in-person role. You are engaged, attentive to the patient in front of you, and smiling with a great warm tone.
- **A good attitude.** You stay calm, friendly, and professional with a ringing phone, a full lobby, and an upset patient all at once.
- **Team first.** You jump in without being asked, communicate openly, and help the whole office succeed.
- **Comfort with money conversations.** You can talk about cost and ask for payment clearly and confidently, without pressure and without avoiding it.
- **Ownership of the schedule.** You treat an open slot or a patient leaving without an appointment as a problem to solve.
- **Attention to detail.** Insurance, payments, and patient information are right the first time.
- **Professional presentation.** As the face of the practice, you maintain a high standard for personal hygiene, grooming, and professional dress every shift.

**Qualifications**

- At least 1 to 2+ years of dental front office experience
- Experience verifying dental insurance and explaining benefits to patients
- Experience presenting treatment plans and collecting patient payments
- Experience scheduling and confirming appointments and managing a provider schedule
- Working knowledge of dental terminology and procedure codes
- Experience with Denticon practice management software is a plus
- Strong phone, computer, and typing skills
- \[Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus\]

**Physical requirements**
The following are essential to this role and must be met with or without reasonable accommodation:

- Sit or stand at a front desk workstation for extended periods
- Use a computer, keyboard, and multi-line phone throughout the shift
- Speak and hear clearly to communicate with patients in person and by phone
- See clearly at close range to read screens, forms, and insurance documents
- Move between the front desk, lobby, and operatories throughout the day
- Lift and carry office supplies up to \[15\] pounds
- Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene standards appropriate for close patient contact, including avoiding strong odors and fragrances

**Our hiring process**

- Short video interview you complete on your own time, then an in-office interview \[and working interview\]
- **We contact prior employers for references**, including questions about attendance, dependability, and teamwork. Please be ready to provide at least two supervisor references.
- Offers are contingent on satisfactory reference and background checks
- New team members complete a 90-day introductory period

**What we offer**
\[Medical, dental, vision / PTO / 401(k) \]
