## Description

**Saalex** is seeking a **Journeyman System and Server Administrator** in **Ridgecrest, CA**. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.

**Position Type:** Full-Time

**Salary:** $80k-$100k annually (depending on experience)

**Work Location:** Onsite. China Lake, CA.

**Overview**  
The Journeyman System and Server Administrator supports day‑to‑day administration, sustainment, and security of Linux and Windows server and client environments. This role focuses on executing established procedures, responding to operational needs, and supporting compliance and patching activities.

**Essential Functions:**

-   Administer and maintain **Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)** systems
-   Support **containerized environments** using tools such as **Podman or Docker**
-   Perform **system sustainment, patching, and vulnerability remediation**
-   Support **cybersecurity and compliance requirements** in accordance with established policies
-   Administer **Microsoft Server (2016 or later)** and **Windows 10/11 client systems**
-   Perform **client administration**, including **imaging and provisioning**
-   Assist with **Windows and Linux patching cycles**
-   Utilize **Bash scripting** (Linux) and **PowerShell** (Windows) for basic automation and task execution
-   Support **Network Attached Storage (NAS)** systems
-   Apply **foundational network services knowledge** to help troubleshoot high‑volume data transmission issues
-   Other duties as assigned or required

## Requirements

**Qualifications**

-   3–6 years of system and server administration experience
-   Hands-on experience with RHEL and Windows server/client environments
-   Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, patching, and compliance
-   Basic scripting/automation experience (Bash and PowerShell)
-   Familiarity with enterprise storage and networking concepts

**Education:**

-   Associate’s Degree plus 4 years’ additional work experience OR 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS degree. 

**Security Clearance:**

-   Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
