**About the Role:**

We are seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise Linux environments across on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms. This role focuses on Linux system administration, infrastructure automation using Ansible, middleware management, DNS services, and CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening expertise to ensure high availability, reliability, and operational efficiency across mission-critical systems. This individual will collaborate with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to support continuous improvement and maintain enterprise infrastructure standards.

**Responsibilities:**

- Manage, administer, and optimize large-scale Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) across on-prem and cloud platforms.
- Support and enhance core infrastructure components including DNS, DHCP, NTP, load balancers, firewalls, and reverse proxies.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain middleware platforms such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, or similar enterprise stacks.
- Build and maintain automation for configuration management, patching, and provisioning using Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX, or equivalent tools.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment workflows.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, networking, and OS layers with strong root-cause analysis.
- Manage OS patching, kernel upgrades, performance tuning, and security hardening (SELinux, CIS benchmarks).
- Support cloud-based Linux workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including EC2/VMs, storage, IAM, networking, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational standards for enterprise Linux environments.
- Participate in on-call rotation and support critical production systems with high availability requirements.

## Requirements

- 8+ years of hands-on Linux engineering experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Linux OS internals, system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and data center operations.
- Hands-on experience with DNS, including bind/unbound, zone management, DNSSEC, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with middleware platforms (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, etc.).
- Strong proficiency with Ansible for automation, configuration management, and orchestration.
- Experience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
- Strong scripting skills in either Bash or Python.
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
- Understanding of security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
