### Job Description

Save More Food Market is looking for friendly, dependable, and customer-focused **Cashiers** to join our team!

As a Cashier, you'll play an important role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position is responsible for providing fast, accurate, and friendly checkout service while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming Front-End environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient checkout service.
-   Accurately scan merchandise, process transactions, and handle cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payment.
-   Assist customers with questions, product locations, and general store information.
-   Properly bag groceries while handling merchandise with care.
-   Maintain an accurate cash drawer and follow company cash-handling procedures.
-   Assist customers with self-checkout transactions when needed.
-   Verify identification for age-restricted purchases and follow applicable laws and company policies.
-   Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout lanes, registers, and surrounding areas.
-   Assist with stocking, returning merchandise, and other Front-End tasks as assigned.
-   Communicate customer concerns, pricing discrepancies, and operational issues to supervisors.
-   Follow all company policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
-   Work collaboratively with team members to keep checkout lines moving efficiently.

## Requirements

### Job Requirements

-   Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required. **We are willing to train the right person!**
-   Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
-   Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
-   Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
-   Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
-   Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
-   Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
-   Comfortable learning and operating point-of-sale equipment.
-   Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
-   Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
