Scott Petroleum was founded in 1935 as Scott Petroleum Gas by Solon Scott Sr., father of the present owner, as a distributor of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) based in Itta Bena, Mississippi. Solon Scott Jr., the present owner, joined the company in 1957. Over the following years, Scott Petroleum began a program of acquisition and expansion that has taken the company from its initial Itta Bena, Mississippi location to fourteen bulk plant locations covering North and Central Mississippi, Southeastern Arkansas, and Northeastern Louisiana.
Scott Petroleum initially began as a butane gas company but through the aforementioned acquisitions and expansion, has expanded its product line to currently included LPG, gasoline, diesel, bio-diesel, aviation fuel, kerosene, attendant fittings, appliances, equipment, grease and oils.

Scott Petroleum is always considering additions to our fleet of truck drivers. We have positions for both Class A and Class B CDL drivers. Hazmat Training and Tanker Endorsement is preferred, but we will assist in acquiring certifications if necessary.
