## Description

SeaLink is the largest ferry and freight operator around the Hauraki Gulf, connecting people, businesses and island communities every day. Our Logistics business is a vital part of that mission, providing critical end‑to‑end freight services to Waiheke and Aotea Great Barrier Islands.

We’re looking for an experienced General Manager - SeaLink Logistics to lead and grow this essential operation.

**About the role:**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of SeaLink’s Senior Leadership Team, you will have full accountability for the safety, performance and commercial success of SeaLink Logistics.

This is a hands‑on senior leadership role based in East Tamaki, leading an end‑to‑end freight and logistics business of around 20 people, operating across warehousing, fleet, transport and delivery. You will balance operational leadership with longer‑term strategy, growth and continuous improvement in a safety‑critical, highly regulated environment.

**Key accountabilities include:**

-   Provide clear leadership and strategic direction for SeaLink Logistics
-   Develop and execute business plans aligned with SeaLink’s strategy and values
-   Own full P&L accountability, including revenue growth, cost control, margins and asset utilisation
-   Lead safe, reliable and efficient logistics operations across multiple sites
-   Build and sustain a high‑performing, values‑led team in a safety‑critical environment
-   Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, technology and service delivery
-   Lead customer relationships, including key accounts, pricing, contracts and new business development
-   Work closely with the wider SeaLink leadership team to deliver enterprise‑wide strategy, sustainability and business continuity outcomes

## Requirements

**About you**

You are a commercially astute logistics leader with strong people leadership capability and a visible commitment to safety.

 You will bring:

-   10+ years’ experience in logistics, freight, transport, supply chain or a related operational business, at least 6 of which are in a senior leadership role including P&L ownership
-   Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Transport Management or a related discipline, or equivalent operational leadership experience
-   Experience leading teams in a high-risk, compliance-driven environment
-   Strong financial, commercial and asset management capability
-   A collaborative, values‑driven leadership style
-   A sound understanding of NZ health and safety, transport and employment legislation
-   The ability to balance hands‑on operational leadership with strategic thinking and growth planning
-   Competent technology use and a willingness to learn new skills
-   Willingness and ability to travel across different sites and locations
-   Proof of current and valid legal right to work in New Zealand
