Job Summary

A leading private hospital in the UAE is looking for an experienced **Consultant Intensive Care Medicine** specialist to provide comprehensive critical care to critically ill and complex patients. The role involves managing patients with acute and life-threatening conditions, providing advanced ICU interventions, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in intensive care and critical illness management, with a recognized **Western postgraduate qualification** and experience in a tertiary, multispecialty, or leading private hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

-   Provide comprehensive assessment and management of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
-   Manage complex medical, surgical, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and multi-organ critical illnesses.
-   Provide advanced airway management, mechanical ventilation, and hemodynamic support.
-   Manage sepsis, septic shock, acute respiratory failure, cardiac emergencies, and multi-organ dysfunction.
-   Perform and supervise appropriate ICU procedures, including central venous access, arterial lines, airway procedures, and other critical care interventions.
-   Monitor and manage patients requiring vasopressors, sedation, analgesia, and renal replacement therapy where appropriate.
-   Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care support throughout the hospital.
-   Work closely with surgeons, physicians, emergency teams, nurses, and other specialists through multidisciplinary collaboration.
-   Participate in ICU rounds, treatment planning, and communication with patients' families.
-   Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to patient-safety and infection-control standards.
-   Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, and continuing professional development.
-   Contribute to the development and implementation of ICU clinical protocols and evidence-based practices.

## Requirements

-   Medical degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in **Intensive Care Medicine/Critical Care Medicine**, or an appropriate recognized specialty with accredited critical care training.
-   Recognized **Western qualification** such as UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Irish, or equivalent recognized qualification.
-   Consultant-level experience in Intensive Care/Critical Care Medicine.
-   Strong experience managing complex and critically ill patients in a hospital ICU setting.
-   Experience with mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, advanced airway management, and critical care procedures.
-   Experience in a tertiary, multispecialty, or leading private hospital is preferred.
-   Strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills.
-   Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
