Job Summary

A leading private hospital in the UAE is looking for an experienced **Consultant Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Surgeon** to provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and endocrine conditions. The role involves advanced surgical management of disorders affecting the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary system, pancreas, thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in complex gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery, advanced surgical skills, and a recognized **Western postgraduate qualification**.

Key Responsibilities

-   Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex gastrointestinal and endocrine surgical conditions.
-   Perform elective and emergency gastrointestinal surgical procedures.
-   Manage conditions involving the stomach, oesophagus, small bowel, colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder, biliary system, and pancreas.
-   Perform thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgical procedures as appropriate to training and expertise.
-   Manage benign and malignant gastrointestinal and endocrine conditions.
-   Perform open, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive procedures where appropriately trained.
-   Provide comprehensive preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.
-   Review and interpret relevant imaging, endoscopy, pathology, and laboratory investigations.
-   Participate in multidisciplinary cancer and complex-case meetings.
-   Work closely with Gastroenterology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Radiology, Pathology, Anaesthesia, and other specialties.
-   Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure adherence to patient-safety and infection-control standards.
-   Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.

## Requirements

-   Medical degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in **General Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, or a relevant surgical specialty**.
-   Recognized Western qualification such as **UK CCT/CCST, American Board, German Facharzt, Canada, New Zealand, Australia or equivalent recognized qualification**.
-   Consultant-level experience in gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery.
-   Strong experience in complex GI surgery and endocrine surgical procedures.
-   Experience with laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery is preferred.
-   Fellowship or advanced training in **GI, Upper GI, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, or Endocrine Surgery** is an advantage.
-   Experience in a tertiary, multispecialty, or leading private hospital is preferred.
-   Strong clinical and surgical decision-making skills.
-   Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
